It's actually amazing how many SC justices have very "non-traditional" lives. Roberts is one of them.

Thomas is writhing spitting distance of longest tenured judge. Would think he sticks around as health allows.

According to Wikipedia, he's at 34 years, 181 days and the record is 36 years, 209 days. So he could break it sometime in May of 2028 and still retire in time for Trump to replace him, assuming the Senate cooperates.

Talk is cheap, actually running against him after Trump had arguably saved his political career is not.


Desantis has no political future once his term as governor ends as long as Trump is the emperor of the party.

They have rekindle their broken relationship but it will never be like it was, seriously, you guys don't understand Trump. He doesn't forget when he forgives.

SCOTUS is Trump's legacy. He's appointed three so far and if he gets to appoint another one (or two), why not a 47 year old that the GOP absolutely loves is one of the best options there is. DeSantis has no shot at POTUS. That is between Rubio and Vance now. DeSantis has done nothing but make the left look like fools the last several years, so why not let him do it for 30 more w/o worry? He knows that the base would love it and he'd have arguably the greatest influence on our nation's history for the next 30 years.

The man is a narcissist. We all know that. But this would be a cherry on top for his legacy as POTUS.

I would rather have him 8 years as President, where he could appoint 2-3 genuinely Constitutionalist justices and wreck shop in Washington, and then he could be appointed to the SC by his successor. There is precedent with William Howard Taft.
