Oh, I think it will be more than just those with work ethic, and intrinsic purpose.
I think the whole notion that everybody's gonna be fine because money no longer be needed, everything is dirt cheap, is a ridiculous pipe dream
Wouldn't you still need money to pay your existing 30 year note? What are they just gonna cancel all debt?
Yeah it's one of the dumbest ideas ever floated
5000 years of competitive commerce, poof, gone, no longer needed, everybody lives in utopian bliss
You'd have to be an absolute idiot to believe that
According to Elon, he said it's pointless to even save for retirement. Money will be that irrelevant. It won't exist.
For someone as smart as he is, he's simultaneously a dumbass writing off human behavior like he is.
It will be far from Utopian bliss, but I'd bet that he's a lot closer on his prediction than I would be. Definitely won't catch me betting against him or his predictions.
I would agree he's likely to be closer than I am on predictions, but he's flat out ignoring human behavior or arguably doesn't care based on his own response when asked about how humanity will be affected.
Humanity is not going to go quietly into the night of just adopting zero work ethic and sitting around waiting to die. Don't get me wrong; many people will happily adopt this, but many won't.
He is a grifter and a charlatan, plain and simple. He is super smart and super capable as well so that makes him very dangerous.
Universal Income will never work because of human nature (as you say above). There is always going to be a Smart Steve who says why the hell am I getting $5k when Bumblehead Bob is getting the same amount and I am 100 times better than he is. Which will cause Steve to start his own company or do something to make $10k extra which means we are back to where we were in the first place.
Musk could at least say this, instead he is trying to sell people a non-workable idea.
