Make the loans, like every other business loan, dischargeable in bankruptcy.... you wouldnt need to pass a single other piece of legislation or reform, it would all self right itself in about 3 yrs
Won't happen because if you let the market decide, you would never get a student loan for most liberal arts. Gender studies majors would disappear. And the college professors would be unemployed.
If the majors disappear from college, why teach them in schools?
if you don't teach them in schools, where are you going to indoctrinate kids to vote for the Democrat party?
That is exactly the point. Stop using government loan backing as a funding mechanism for left wing indoctrination centers. If you take away the government backing for the loans and allow the loans to be dischargeable in bankruptcy, certain majors are going to disappear entirely because there is no way they will ever pay well enough to justify a loan to get one. The rest of the college experience will get cheaper as well because the lenders are not going to let their loans go to pay for bloated bureaucratic fees that do nothing to enhance the value of the education. Schools that don't do a good job getting their graduates hired will have to improve or lenders are going to be reluctant to give students loans to go there. It is literally a one stop solution that fixes most of what is wrong with higher education right now.
