Carnival cruises are only like that on the 3-4 day cheap cruises. The clientele on a newer ship for 7+ days is very different.

People are somehow able to stand up in 400-500 mph headwinds at 10k+ feet in an open roofed jet.

Also passenger jets don't have four legged chairs like you would find in your home.

I've heard from several friend that have done Alaskan Cruises they are far better than the cheap Caribbean cruises.

I don't shop airline prices, so I don't know what kind of savings the "discount" airlines offer, but the remaining ones…Frontier, Jet Blue,etc would be wise to raise their prices as and be in that 8-10% or less discount range to make it a viable business moving forward.

We have done flights from Houston to Orlando for a 7 day cruise all in at about $3800-4500 for 4 people. Maybe another 800 On excursions.

We are doing 7 day Alaska this July with Houston to Seattle r/t. Cruise, flight, 1 excursion so far and we are already at about 11k without Seattle hotel booked yet.

It's quite the jump.

Their reasoning on this reminds me of many examples of unions that have gone on strike to protest pay and then their strike puts the company out of business. So, instead of getting pay raises they get no pay at all.

That sort of just happened with Starbucks in Seattle after the new mayor told people to boycott to force a union. They are opening a new hub in Nashville and moving people there. They expect to have 2000 employees there

His son is a first officer for Southwest so he arranged for the flight his dad was taking home to be greeted with the traditional water cannon salute.

I just paid $1500 to fly 2 on SWA RT from PSP to OGG.

SWA had the lowest price... and I shopped Kayak, etc.

Flew Spirit Once. Once. ONT to LAS. I should have paid more attention to those Youtube videos.

At least there's nothing solid about a bailout. Effthat.

At the end of the day…merger or no merger, the result was the same….one fewer airline. I think Spirit would have been an anchor around Jet Blues neck and only accelerated their decline

Sucks for Spirit employees but hopefully the market absorbs those jets and routes. Pilots and flight attendants will have to start over in seniority once they get with another airline, though.

So, I assume all of their planes were leased? Can other airlines get some bargains on the Spirit aircraft? I know SWA is a Boeing fleet, but what happens to those Airbus A-3XX after they are fumigated?

They'll be refurbished as needed and be leased or sold to other airlines, or sent straight to the boneyard.

Any non-NEO versions will likely head off to to airlines in less developed nations or the boneyard. NEO aircraft likely will be in higher demand so they'll find homes with airlines looking to expand or replace older single aisle planes. Assuming of course those NEO aircraft are the ones dealing with P&W's engine issues.

SWA won't get them. They'll stick with the 737 until they have no other choice, which will likely be when Boeing comes out with a real 737 replacement that uses 787 tech; which is what they should have done instead of the MAX.
