Rudy Giuliani is hospitalized in critical condition, his spokesman said on Sunday.

The spokesman, Ted Goodman, said in a statement the 81-year-old former New York City mayor is critical but stable.

The statement does not say what happened.

Not much to really say this this point.

Rudy is almost 82 so could be anything, but if it was due to some outside action, I think his spokesman would have said so.

Rudy did a great job cleaning up New York City. It's got to hurt him knowing it is a mess now.

Hang tough Rudy!

Given it seems to have been sudden, pretty good possibility.

Don't wish death on him, but has anyone more cataclysmically destroyed their reputation and legacy than Rudy? Maybe Cosby?

America's Mayor. He saved NYC before 9/11. Was called a Nazi for cleaning up the city.

After 9/11, he was the consoler in chief for that city, attending hundreds of funerals. And he kept it all together in the aftermath.

Flawed man in his personal life? Yep. Tried to stay in the public life way too long? Yep.

Do I still think of him fondly? Yep. Sometimes the Man defines the time. Sometimes the times define the Man.

Getting old sucks.

Good luck, Rudy.

He will be seen as the last great Mayor of NYC and represent its peak. It's been all downhill since and will never return to what they had during Rudy's tenure.

Amazing mayor. Kind of peter principled after that as he became an old guy without a role that fit, but it's a travesty what they allowed happen to the city he cleaned up

Rudy an American mayor and Mamdani a communist mayor. This is what happens when you allow far easterners into the country.

I've always thought it was as a shame that Rudy couldn't capitalize on his many NYC successes. He almost completely destroyed the NY mafia as a federal prosecutor, did a great job as mayor, and was the absolute definition of a leader & statesman during the aftermath of 9/11.

Then 2016 rolled around and he took all the goodwill he'd built up over the past 40 years, bagged it up like his dog had dumped it on the sidewalk, lit it on fire, and stomped all over it without any shoes on.

I think he lost most of the well-deserved good will by peddling Donald Trump's lies of the 2020 election. He was disbarred in NY for making misleading statements to the court and generally made a buffoon of himself for serving as a public face to all that nonsense. Weirdly it will be non-NYers that remember him the most fondly.

From 1981-2001, maybe. From 2016 to now, I wouldn't trust him to get coffee. No idea about the 14 years in the middle. Bless his heart, the Four Seasons thing gave me second hand embarrassment

Actually, history will eventually prove that Rudy was correct. The election was stolen, Joe Xiden was never actually a functioning president, the bag of cocaine found in the White House was owned by a Biden, and Hussein Obama is a gay man. But most of us already know these things are true.
NY disbarring Rudy was just another TDS game. The sad thing about NY is the current Communist running the state and city.

Do you absolutely know for a fact these things are all true, or are you making an emotionally charged declaration based on your passionately held opinions?

If he was a Democrat post-2016 who staked his reputation on being wrong over Trump being a Russian agent, it would have been swept under the rug with the rest of them. But since he went to bat for Trump, we're supposed to pretend like he's the first politician in history with a flawed personal life to have problems.

Giuliani's NYC vs Mamdani's NYC

Talk about a stark contrast. Might as well be good vs evil...

Hope he recovers strong and enjoys some quality years

He cleaned up NYC long before becoming Mayor. Guy had balls of steel.

There's literally a video of Ms. Ruby & Co. with a suitcase on election night - but Rudy was wrong. What you saw wasn't real, we'll tell you what to think.

Rudy's life of work will be remembered in positive by honest thinking people - and his reputation will be soiled a bit by the left doing dumb things like allowing himself to be in a Sacha Baron Cohen film.

Get better soon, Mayor!

Considering the current demographics of NYC I would be curious to know how many people who lived in NYC while he was mayor are actually still there. I bet most of those people are gone at this point.

Something came up in my youtube feed this weekend about 80s TV shows. One of those was Dynasty. Not only did former President Ford and Betty have a cameo during a Carrington huge gala but Henry Kissinger had a scene (unscripted) with Joan Collins. She was directed to just make some small talk with him briefly. So she approached and said, "Henry! So good to see you! Haven't seen you since Portofino!" And then glided away.

Kissinger later called Aaron Spelling to complain he had never been to Portofino nor met Joan Collins there. Aaron had to remind him it was a fictional TV show.

Politicians have long done cameos in movies and TV shows. President Nixon was on Laugh-In asking, "Sock it to me?"

The facts are that the controls around our elections are so poor that we'll never know the real count and outcome. But it was won on a difference of about 40k votes over a few states. It very well could have gone Trump's way in reality, but it will be forever impossible to prove because it was a ridiculously bad process in these key states further obstructed by the fact those responsible for it in these states were not interested in investigating it properly
