Better description is "hit someone walking on an active runway". It isn't like they were on a cross walk waiting at a light or anything.

Yeah, we damn near had that last week!

I'm not a fan of flying Frontier. When boarding Frontier In Denver, the passengers have to actually walk out on the tarmac to get in and out of the planes. About 3 weeks ago, we were standing outside for 10 minutes in 30 degree weather while they were sorting their crap.

That's not unique to frontier, United does the same.

Not the first suicide by jet engine; won't be the last.

But did you get hit by a plane and partially ingested by a jet engine?

At Frontier there's an extra charge for that.

Not yet. But once you're out there, you've already been counted as a 'soul' onboard. My last flight was mass confusion as they were either short-staffed or just confused.

I wonder if there is enough DNA left to identify the "pedestrian".

You need to be extra stupid, extra drunk or extra suicidal to be walking on an active runway at night.

T&P for those who need to clean this up.

A friend once ran over a fellow who was lying, at night, on a Texas Farm to Market Road. My friend was shaken but the Highway Patrol who worked it said to him, "Beds are make to sleep in; roads are made for driving on". I wonder how many investigation committees it will take the good leftist citizens of Denver to decide what runways are for?

Right at landing in Utapao, I had to rapidly jerk the nose back to get the nose wheel back up off the runway so as to avoid running over a dog that had decided to take a break on the centerline. I swear I made eye contact with it, and he just froze. The nosewheel had to have gone right over him, and he passed between the mains. Reported him to the tower & the Thais sent a truck out, but the dog had snapped out of it and hauled azz.

Probably not much left. The parts not consumed by the engine... Leg it legs maybe below the knee and maybe parts of an arm? Everything else probably in the "wash it to the grass" territory. Maybe some engine parts that have to be treated as biohazard.

Above 70mph or so flesh and meaty bits tend to just go to mush and mist.

You're welcome!

The Hubs once rolled upon a wreck on a freeway. A Suzuki Samarai full of hispanics that had rolled multiple times (as those vehicles often did). It was just trying to match body parts to put into body bags. Tried to to do the best they could but the coroner would still have to do DNA tests to piece each of them together. Or what was left of them.

High bypass turbofans don't really "consume" a body. Probably lots of chunks chopped and scattered

Who proofreads this crap? Huh. DEN is out in the middle of nowhere. A leisurely stroll to the corner store?

An intern at ABC7.

Something out of an Gordon Lightfoot song. "In the early morning rain"

"Out on runway number 9/ Big old 707 set to go"

"Pedestrian" was used by the Airport in its official statement (and is a common term in the "industry".)

What exactly does "consumed" mean if not: "lots of (body) chunks chopped and scattered"?

ATC must be at fault for not spotting and escorting the drifter off the runway...I think that's the angle libs will go for to blame this on Trump.

"partially consumed". Ugh.

In Austin back in 2020 a person was hit and killed on the runway by a Southwest flight. I believe they determined it was a suicide if I recall correctly.

Yes, the Austin Police Department ruled it a suicide.

Pretty inconsiderate way too as he could have killed everyone on the flight if they were further in the takeoff roll.

Unlikely. After V1 that plane is going airborne if at least one engine remains.
