I disagree. I've seen no indications of the DNC moving back towards the sanity and political savvyness of the "old guard" aka the old mainstream establishment Democratic Party leaders: Bill Clinton, HRC, Kerry, Biden, Pelosi, James Carville, Steny Hoyer, Clyburn, Schumer, Durbin...they're all 80+ except HRC who is 78 & Schumer who is 75. The generation of Dem Party leaders who are replacing that previous one are not nearly as astute at politics.
Surprisingly, I agree with you. If Pelosi, as Speaker, wasn't powerful enough to rein the loonies in, who could?
I think Pelosi and Hoyer did an excellent job of running their side of the House and getting stuff done and controlling the House Dems. Even the Rs of their era all agreed on that. What Pelosi and Steny failed at (imo) is recruiting and preparing younger centrist D's to step into their shoes. The DNC badly needs a reboot. But for that to happen, the DNC is going to have go through some pain.
Quote:

I'm not seeing anyone in the Dem Party, as you said the next generation of leaders, who could bring that party back to more centrist positions.
There are some talented centrist Dems in the pipeline who are capable of doing it, but they are young and still gaining experience in state govmt offices. Maybe they will be ready in 5 or 6 years to step in and take over the national party reins about the time the ruins of the unfolding AOC - Mamdani - Hakeem Jeffries trainwreck are done smoldering. We'll have to wait and see.

And neither does noted Dem advisor Dan Turentine. His prediction is 2032 is the drop dead election for the Dem Party.
I think he is wrong. These things go in cycles. There are cataclysmic changes coming to America in the 2030s. How those changes will transform the political landscape by 2036 is anybody's guess.

The centrist Democrats only return when the crazed leftist assassins trained by the Democrats target the centrist Democrats instead of Republicans.

"but we're socialists; WW2 was fought against socialists (National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, NSDAP) and the entire cold war was to fight against socialist ideas (USSocialistR)"

think tank: "just add democratic at the beginning; the idiots on the D side will think it matters and doesn't change the end result."

This just confirms again the stupidity of the Democratic voter.

They wanting her is making the movie "Idiocracy" more relevant by the day.

Booker at 3.9%? I guess that whole "Look at me, I'm marrying a woman" thing didn't really get any traction for him.

AOC is proof that stupid people can be successful. They just need to sell class envy to even stupider people.

People are aching for a candidate who will actually represent them and do what's best for the people and not Israel/the establishment. Not surprising. Trump 2 has been an utter disaster (this coming from a 3x Trump voter).

Interesting Rubio is polling so much higher than JD. Way early but interesting nonetheless.

LOL at an AOC presidency

We felt the same way about xiden. He was a comical nominee and somehow "won." Look how many votes kammie got. Never underestimate the love fest the MSM will have with her if she's the nominee.

It's been anything other than an "utter disaster." Ridiculous statement. There have been some missteps but by and large he's killing it.

AOC's ability to just tell untruths about the past and present alike does rival peepaw, which I guess is a feature to Democrats. But she doesn't have as many fake stories about her own past/ethnicity etc. as gang-banger fighter Polish-Irish-black-Puerto Rican-Italian Potus Cornpop did. Heck, he even copied some Irish politician's family narrative shamelessly, way before he became demented.

Again I think her 'time' to run will be in the 2030's, not this cycle. She is a better retail politician than I'd expected her to be.

The most fascinating thing about the Dems right now is nobody on that list has done anything in the private sector. Oddly enough AOC being a bartender might be the biggest private sector accomplishment from that entire list. IMO that's the core of that party's problems, they haven't a clue how wealth is created, only how to steal it and use it to buy votes. It's really quite fascinating.

They won't say it...but what are Ivy League Dons like Elizabeth Warren and other severely educated Dems thinking when they see AOC leading in the polls like this?

And Hillary?

Why, she was the "most credentialed person in the world" to the people for whom credentials are everything.

And she got beat out by nobody from Chicago with a whole two years experience as a Senator and, later, a guy who had never run for office ever.

People are always talking about how "unlikable" Trump is. And, boy, does he have his moments.

But in retrospect...in the unlikable sweepstakes...where does that put Hillary?

oh no

"I aint' now waayys tiirrrred"
-Hilary speaking to a black congregation in a church in Alabama

she may be very credentialed, but disingenuous as hell and also among her credentials:
  • fired from counsel investigating watergate and trying to impeach Nixon for lying and unethical behavior
  • failed miserably at socialist health care reform during her 8 years as FLOTUS
  • carpet bagged to NY after having never lived there her entire life and only won her senate race because her opponent dropped out with gall bladder cancer
  • named Sec of State after being an unaccomplished junior senator and left with not only the Benghazi disaster but also using private email server with top secret and classified data and her staff destroying evidence with bleach.bit and hammers.

I wasn't familiar at all with Booker, but listened to him on an episode of one of Scott Galloways podcasts a few weeks ago and was impressed.

To me it feels like the more people see of Newsome the worse he will do, and the ultimate nominee will be someone more "boring". I think Rahm Emanuel may be a player in this before it's all said and done.

Isn't Emanuel Jewish? If so he isn't going to be the nominee of a party that is openly antisemitic. This is a party with multiple Muslims in the House and now running an actual Nazi for the Senate.

Remember when Obama himself damned her with faint praise by saying she was, "likable enough"?

Only Dems that would have a chance to win are Newsome (good looks and talker), Wes Moore (good looking black man but not running) and Michelle Obama (not running)

Shapiro would have a good chance but he will never become the nominee, too moderate and is a jew

Trump has to get the economy turned around by mid 2027 to make it easier on the R. If the economy is rolling and inflation is down it will be hard for anyone to beat the R

IDK what the Dems will run on, probably affordability and health care, hand outs, race baiting, fear mongering

Poll was conducted by a Soros funded entity, done during the middle of the week during working hours, by polling the porch sitters and breeders in Section 8 housing.
