The got damn e bike kids are driving me insane. They'll pop up in little groups driving around like little Jack holes. I can't tell you how many disregard traffic laws.

In 2020, a certain demographic was convinced by the media and entertainment industry that the laws of a civilized society no longer apply to them.
Unfortunately, I don't see that trend reversing unless we increase policing, turn off body cameras, and let them carry a jammer to disable all cell phone cameras within a certain range.
Make police feared again…

I don't know, but my suburban community of Cypress TX is starting to be overrun by feral Brayden's and Jayden's on e-dirt bikes. I kind of like that they are forming little gangs and engaging in mischief, like we did, but they need to take it off road, it's becoming a real problem. Someone going to die soon.

Happening here in W Travis County too. One one hand it is the kind of stuff we did in the country but these kids are doing in school zones and around traffic lights and getting hit by cars. The parents of these kids didn't think twice before letting 10-13 year olds take their lives into their hands.
Some of these kids will grow up a bit and become hellions like in the OP article.

Fow what it is worth I spent a good portion of my childhood biking around with a fishing rod and tackle box. We just stayed out of traffic as much as possible

Yep, to be clear, it is the one-handed biking around on super fast/high acceleration electric dirt bikes on busy roads (this was during afternoon rush hour) that I have a problem with. I don't want to hit one of these kids, or see one of them die or suffer severe injury.
I don't think most people realize how fast these go. Or how rapidly they accelerate.

well for one, you have to get parents to be actual parents.

Maybe we can start by calling them felons instead of "teens"?
Teens
Youths
Etc.
All euphemisms for you know what.

This is becoming quite a problem. It happened last weekend at both the country club AND the yacht club. Horrifying.

This is what I have a problem with. It was cool when I saw them doing healthy adventurous kid stuff on them off road...I was envious, we couldn't have imagines having access to these fancy e-toys growing up. But we have plenty of wide open spaces to ride out here around the lakes etc...but now they just roam in packs on the busy roads and I have seen a few close calls. Yesterday I saw two Jayden's at a busy intersection stoplight holding fishing rods and tackle with one hand and steering with the other. It's not a matter of if, but when, they are putting up a memorial along one of the roads in my neighborhood for one of these kids.

As if people driving automobiles don't disregard traffic laws.

This is clearly in the realm of some tough policing.
For every teen take over , there should be a " swat takeover".
