Seems to me that regardless of the mechanisms by which this epic battle of red vs blue is executed, it accomplishes nothing but the destruction of the United States.

Maybe. Maybe not. There's a lot of vitriol tossed at Democrats on this site that is way over the top and emotionally exaggerated. Same as any pro-liberal site on Reddit.

But here's the thing and there's really no getting around it. A goofy civil war triggered by the 20% of extremists of either side guarantees the immediate collapse of the United States. If we don't have a civil war, maybe we limp along for a while until our kids and grandkids who are way less angry and bitter than we are take over.
