You don't have to lie.

Average price of gas in Texas was $2.70 on 2/27 per google.

$3.09 is 14% higher.

I would have thought that the way the talking points on egg prices backfired would have been a learning opportunity.
Here's the 2/27 average national gas price for the past six years.

Worth every penny to finally do something about the scourge that is radical Islam in Iran. I'd happily pay more, if it would speed things up and improve the odds of success.

Time to pound their ability to make nukes into the next couple decades. Then get the hell out of there ASAP.

i shouldn't need to explain why comparing your local pump price this morning to the state average from february 27 is stupid, but then again i'm in a thread cheerleading higher gas prices so maybe it just comes with the territory

This.

Also, I wonder if the price of gas has anything to do with us sneaking oil out of Iran like Trump confessed to yesterday and the depletion of the SOR

With 20% of the world's oil sitting in the Persian gulf. Yea that is not a bad price.

If you want to ride into the fray under the blue Banner of Veritas, you might also point out that four years ago, in June of 2022, the national average price for a gallon of gas was $4.88 and climbing. With no quid pro quo for the sacrifice, and no reward for the inconvenience: we were just "building back better".

Love trump or hate him, I don't see how anyone can rationally say gas prices are a win right now. They're going to cost bigly in the midterms.

Striking Iran when we did was an error, and it's difficult to avoid that conclusion. And this is coming from someone who detests the Iranian government and would gladly support a campaign to overthrow the regime.

Gas hasn't been under $5/gal in California for some time.
In fact, it's slowly creeping back down under $6.

Earlier this week, I paid:
  • $6.25 in Burbank on Monday (87 Octane - rental car).
  • $3.97 in Texas City on Tuesday (93 Octane - my BMW)

Gas at $3.29 is certainly nothing to celebrate but gas coming down in June (a historically high month) is worth celebrating. Get below $3 before July and the midterms will forget about gas prices. Especially with the border closed and illegals getting smaller and smaller!

FIFY

I heard somebody say Gulf of Mexico the other day and I couldn't figure out if they were just mis-remembering, or if they were trying to make a political statement.

Those are prices from February 27 for each of the past six years, not June 11. The source was from the American Petroleum Institute as collected by Perplexity.ai.
