I haven't paid much attention to this, but does this mean the regime is changed in Iran, the people are free, and Iran no longer has any materials that could be used to make nukes?

Or is this just something to get gas prices down before the 4th and help with the midterms?

Note: Never knocking prices going down, but unless the things I mentioned are done, nothings really "gotten better" unless we call prices going back down to where they already were before the MIC got fill out tax payers money and Politicians and people close to them who've made money off this war so far.

People do realize that it's going to take a couple of weeks before prices go down. There are tankers with millions of $100 barrels of oil on them right now and those won't be sold at a discount. Once we get tankers transporting $70-80 barrels of oil we'll really start to see prices plummet.

Iran can no longer hold the ME hostage with the huge armament of ballistic missiles that is was stockpiling so that it could use them as a deterrent while it worked on nukes.

Saw gas in Austin today for $3.09 cash pay.

That's pretty fast.

Brent and WTI will open in the US this morning at the lowest prices since March 3, both now trading in the 70s.

WTI was trading in the mid-60s in the weeks leading up to the war.

Who had "we need to hurry up and lose this war so gas prices will come down" on their bingo card at the start of the year?

$3.54 @ Sam's in Gilbert, Arizona today. We were up near $5 at the peak.

Gas prices go up like a rocket but come down like a feather, is the old saying.

And that is just because of the nature of the business. They can't come down as fast because there are already sunk costs for past and short term future contracts for delivery. A lot can be determined by the volume and turnover rate. The higher the volume for stations, the quicker they can come down as inventory is turned over.

There's no magic there. Pretty simple really.
