Way to piss off the Christians in your fan base

Is kowtowing to the minority that makes up the LGB community really that important?

The damn MLB needs to shut the **** up. Quit pushing gay **** and politics down everybody's throats and let sports be sports again.

They have barely recovered from the kneeling bull***** And you know damn well they wouldn't do a damn thing if a Muslim player put something on theirs.
I don’t get enough credit for the things I manage not to say.

When they have Pride night, one of them should write "Free Palestine" on their hats just to stir the cesspool a little more

I hope they do it again and force the MLB to defend their stance of disallowing Christians expressing their faith.

I was already not going to live games at Daikin Park due to that jackwagon at the gate not knowing what the Astros' own rules were regarding small video cameras - which I intended to use to record my daughter's choir performing the National Anthem a few years ago. I was denied entry with the camera, so had to walk back to my truck to stash the camera. Then they never responded to the communications I sent them regarding the matter. Felt rather personal, so I said "f em forever" even though I've been a life-long fan of the Astros.

This kind of thing only validates the the professional game of baseball is no longer "as American as baseball or apple pie", as that saying goes.

Christians and white males seem to be the only groups where it is encouraged to crap all over.

People should read history. San Francisco is named for St. Francis of Asisi, a Catholic Friar. He is one of the more venerated Christian figures. It seems to me MLB ought to change the name of the team to Bay Area Giant is they have a bug up their ass about this.

Quote:

One of the most venerated figures in Christianity,[8][4] Francis was canonized by Pope Gregory IX on 16 July 1228. He is commonly portrayed wearing a brown habit with a rope tied around his waist, featuring three knots symbolizing the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

They don't. You can't alter the uniform without MLB approval. Teams get approval bed all the to wear a patch or something similar to honor someone associated with the team.
You can have Bible verses on your glove, cleats, bat, etc. You can find all kinds of examples of players doing this online.

Kershaw did it last year and the MLB didn't say anything.

Why the mood change now after a precedent had been set by allowing it?

I fully support these players pushing back and doing this.

I also fully understand that the cap is part of a uniform and can carry all of the consequences associated with protest against your employer.

MLB is the only major U.S. professional sport exempt from antitrust scrutiny. Time for that to end so players have a choice on where to play. Until then, bake the cake, err, wear the hat.

So, the Google machine provided the following about this issue:

Quote:

The Violation: The rule explicitly states that players cannot add unauthorized writing, illustrations, commercial logos, or personal modifications to any part of the on-field uniform

That being said, I think a player should be able to add whatever they want to their caps, clothing, whatever. IF they want to put Ayat al-Kursi or Allahu Akbar on the caps, I don't see why they can't, just like these players.

I mean, the player wore the caps FFS, so what's the big deal of writing something so small that unless someone looks for it, it can't be seen.

Stupid policy that needs to change. Fact is, our country is made up of all types of people, and sports teams are just as diverse. No need to stifle them.

That's fine on the uni rules. So, to make it equal, how about the MLB have a league wide campaign for Christianity? You could do it in April for the opening month of baseball with the highlight of Easter when it falls in April.

The answer is because mlb has strong woke tendencies, like every other big entertainment biz in the West.

They need to be reminded that their fans have other options and that congress can change their competition exemption at will.

But players have to abide by uniform stage costume requirements handed down by the league, Performers don't get to pick their costumes.

pride night is not league wide, its just seems that way because all but rangers do it.

many teams (not close to all but 1) do have faith & family night.
