How would you know? There a lots of different translations for words in the bible, such as the word enemy. Which is often translated wrongly to mean what we think of as an enemy today. When it actually referred to a brother or member of the community, not someone who wants to do you harm.

I think the pastor may have misinterpreted the meaning of "laying of hands". But good on him for showing restraint. Punk deserved much worse than he got.
