#4 and final today is Trump v. Miot & Mullin v. Doe
6-3 by Justice Alito
Commie girl squad dissentsQuote:
Whether the Trump administration can end the Temporary Protected Status program for Haitian nationals (Miot) and Syrian nationals (Mullin).
The court holds that the Syrian and Haitian nationals are not "entitled to orders postponing the terminations during litigation."
The Supreme Court first holds that courts cannot review the Haitian and Syrian nationals' non-constitutional claims, because the TPS statute bars judicial review.
The court next holds that the Haitian nationals' constitutional claim, that the decision to terminate TPS status for Haiti was based on racial discrimination, "will likely fail."
What are the dissents based on for this and the asylum case? Feelz?
I don't have time to read the dissent, but I'm sure its likely of feelz and some "muh, racism" thrown in.

Yep...just perused it a bit. The "muh racism" was there.
They conclude that a bunch of statements like "****hole countries" etc were inherently racist...
Seems pretty racist to me to think only blacks live in ****hole countries...

First today is Monsanto v. Durnell.
7-2 by Justice Kavanaugh
Jackson dissents, joined by GorsuchQuote:
This is a case about whether a federal law the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act that regulates the use, sale, and labeling of pesticides bars a lawsuit against Monsanto, the maker of Roundup weedkiller, for failing to include a warning on the label about the risks of cancer. The EPA did not require Monsanto to include such a warning, and the agency has said that the active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, does NOT cause cancer.
The court holds that FIFRA preempts (that is, trumps) Durnell's claim under state law.
The court reverses the ruling by the Missouri Court of Appeals for Durnell and sends the case back to the lower court for "further proceedings not inconsistent with this opinion."
Justice Thomas has a concurring opinion "to call attention to some of the underlying constitutional infirmities" in FIFRA.
I took a look at this. It's a good outcome, but let me fill you in on a few facts so you understand how crazy it is that we had to litigate this at all.

In 2016, there was such a huge surge of migrants on the border that DHS couldn't possibly process them all. So it set limits,… https://t.co/RQIyxTRm3p
In a sense, that irreparable sovereign harm of having been hauled to court to litigate dozens of TPS lawsuits that were not subject to judicial review was awful. It is a shame that it took so long to resolve.

The Supreme Court slapped down a Hawaiian law that infringed on the Second Amendment. Justice Jackson, in her dissent, started quoting Hawaiian law from when it was a separate Kingdom. LOL
