Don't get too excited, y'all. John Bolton is now a convicted felon. So what. So is Donald Trump. Neither one will suffer any appreciable consequences.

Why didn't Bolton make Joe Bidens pardon list,?

$100 he does no time.

Did he forfeit his pension or is that an option that the sentencing judge has?

If so, another $100 he keeps his pension.

Swamp gonna swamp and protect the swamp.

Because he was a useful idiot, not a true Marxist.

I find it a bit peculiar that John Bolton has been a staunch conservative his entire career, and was celebrated by Republicans at every point in his political life…until he took a hardline stance against President Trump. All the sudden he's dismissed as an America hating rino who should rot in jail or swing from the gallows.

Tell us you know nothing about Republicans without telling us you know nothing about Republicans...

There were LOTS of Republicans that didn't like Bolton when he got appointed by Trump. There were lots of Republicans that didn't like Bolton long before that.

But, when you only venture out of your liberal echo chamber occasionally to drive by post here, you wouldn't have any idea of that...

You can send me $100 regarding his pension. Please and thank you. I will also take a donation to a charity in lieu of payment.

It's part of his plea agreement. See page 8 item 14.

Yet he continued to be appointed to high profile positions in multiple republican administrations, including Trump's. Apparently somebody liked him.

Trump hired a bunch of people in his first term who were recommended by the swampy part of the GOP. It's part of the reason there was so much turmoil in that first term.

Trump didn't know WHO to trust, so he assumed he could trust the "establishment" GOP.

Go look at TexAgs back when Bolton was appointed...the vast majority of this board HATED the choice.

His book was published in 2020, and proceeds would be subject to seizure.

It's a shame President Trump didn't come here for advice on his cabinet picks. Maybe then he wouldn't have fired seven of them in less than a term and a half.

Just another example of a two term President damaging his legacy by not consulting F16 on his cabinet appointments. When are these guys gonna learn?

He should swing from the gallows for stealing classified information for profit. Trump has nothing to do with it.

Don't get me wrong. I agree. Just don't hold your breath. The rules are different for guys like him. He's really not being prosecuted for stealing classified information for profit. He's being prosecuted for not being sufficiently loyal. Slap on the wrist.
