The video does look bad, but I'd like to have a bit more context. I would bet you could find a handful of times Brady missed an open receiver and splice it together and make it look bad. Let's also not forget some weird times at critical moments that Cooper took himself out of games. I would rather have Cooper, but let's not pretend like there wasn't some weirdness to him and his game.

May be a bit of a hot take but I think Gallup is the boys biggest playmaker at receiver. Just needs more opportunities.

If it's structured anything like amari's contract then that is really a 3/37.5 deal and I'm ok with it. I don't love it but consider that Mike Williams just got 3/60 and Corey Davis got the same 3/37.5 last year on the open market.
Ultimately it's on Gallup to stay healthy and produce. Hell be a steal if he can do that.

Yeah, I saw that this is prob more of a 3 year deal. I think it's decent deal. Good money for him, but gives the team an out with not too much pain.
Since I've had some time to chew on the Amari thing, let me start by saying I would much rather have Amari on the team and than not, but I think I understand why they did it and think it was prob the right move.
WRs are coming out in the draft each year more and more at a high level. I'm not sure it's a good strategy anymore to pay huge money to a WR unless you have one of the top two or three. And even at that, you want to tie up $30m in cap space to D. Adams?
I think you keep stocking your WR room through the draft and keep some of your guys on mid-level deals like Gallup.
You make good points and I do agree that WRs are coming into the NFL and making immediate impacts. WR was once a position that took a couple years to learn. But now the systems and route trees are so similar that these guys are ready to go right away.
I mean, take a look at some of the WRs that look like they most likely will be there in the 2nd:
That's a ton of guys that will be good NFL WRs. Given a choice, I would love George Pickens in the 2nd. He's a first round guy if he doesn't have the ACL.

I wouldn't mind if we sign a FA WR like James Washington or will fuller on a 1 year prove it deal and then draft someone in the first 3 rounds. There will be plenty of talented receivers available in each round

This is a pretty team friendly deal.
Gallup's cap hit in 22 is 4M and we can easily move on after 2 seasons. Extremely team friendly deal & good business by the Cowboys.
The Gallup deal already looks like a bargain compared to the Kirk deal.

I liked Wilson, too, but i heard one of the podcasts (broaddus or Cavanaugh, i think) say that Wilson really can't play on the outside. He's strictly a slot guy. I think with Cooper gone, you really need an outside guy.
Gallup can play outside but I think CD is best in the slot. That's why I would love a guy like Pickens in the 2nd. He and Gallup on the outside and CD in the slot would be pretty good.

Wow, did not realize how much we had freed up. Spotrac is showing us with over $40M available. If that's true, then hell yes get both.
I think they probably want Kearse and/ or Hooker back. Didn't realize we had Wilson on the cheap thru 2025.
