One thing I'm curious about if Ryans is the hire is what his QB philosophy is. He's coming from SF where they had arguably the least stable QB situation in the NFL and they made it to the NFC title game. I wonder if an experience like that tends to make him think he can win with a guy like Jimmy G or if he's taking over a team that finished last in the AFC if he definitely needs to get a guy Young or Stroud. I guarantee he knows the value of building around the QB, gotta have the offensive line, to protect the QB and have a run game, also need weapons for him since they've got guys like Kittle, Samuel, and Aiyuk. Those pieces were key to giving Purdy a real chance at winning. He might look at this roster and say there's zero point in drafting a QB that high if he has no weapons or adequate protection. Also, him being a defensive coach he might look at Carter and Anderson and say they're too good to pass up. Watching Chris Jones last night shows how a DT can wreck a gameplan for an entire offense.
I think the title games this weekend were interesting because the AFC title game had 2 elite 1st round QBs in Mahomes and Burrow. The NFC title game had a Hurts who was drafted in the third round and Purdy who was drafted in the 7th. SF and Philly have top notch offensive lines, run games, and passing weapons, elevating their QBs. KC and Cincinnati have missing pieces on offense, their QBs have more of a burden to win on their own. Cincinnati's offensive line was detrimental to their success. KC just didn't have the same number of passing weapons they're used to having outside of Kelce.
