I don't mind Kingsbury as long as he takes the extra time being an OC to focus on evolving his scheme. If he plans on coaching at any point in the future he has to evolve. But he's got the perfect mindset for an OC, in that he's not a slave to his original game plan and is willing to just keep attacking a defensive weakness until the other team adjusts. It's one of the reason I liked him when A&M brought him on back in the day. He just needs to evolve his scheme. If DeMeco is confident he will, then he's a great hire, especially if we can pair him with guys that will bring new concepts to him.LB12Diamond said:
I hope they can find someone better than Kingsberry. He's average. Can't ever remember ever watching an O of his where he out schemed anyone. And just gets worse as the season moves on instead of better. Get someone from the Reid coaching tree.
The #Texans are hiring Bobby Slowik as their offensive coordinator, per sources.

Slowik and DeMeco Ryans spent the past six seasons together in San Francisco, both starting their NFL coaching careers as defensive quality controls. Now, Ryans brings Slowik along as OC. pic.twitter.com/8r3MfmtlyT
#Texans are hiring Bobby Slowik as offensive coordinator, according to league sources, after meeting with Kliff Kingsbury late in process. Slowik, the #49ers passing game coordinator, remained top candidate throughout the process https://t.co/ojxJBloKWz

Klint Kubiak coming on board as well
I'm an idiot! I said the Texans are hiring Klint Kubiak as run game coordinator, but it's not finalized. They trying to hire him, but it's not a done deal. I apologize!

Really happy with Slowik and the direction of the staff, but man I like the Philly offense too. Would really like to get someone from that staff (And as I type this, Hurts just drops the ball).

I like that Philly offensive line...

Only 3 QBs were drafted in the top 3 and won a Super Bowl for that team as the starter.
- Troy Aikman
- Terry Bradshaw
- Peyton Manning
But it doesnt. It gives those successful 5 qbs only a 23% shot.LincolnBorglum79 said:
John elway and Eli Manning were drafted and traded before they every played a down. Both were top 3 and if you add their 4 Super Bowl wins to the 9 wins by the other 3 guys thats 13/57 that's 23% of all super bowls. Besides Brady, how many 6th round QBs have won the big game? Why not just draft your qb in round 6 and get Brady. That should work
You point that top 3 picks don't always pan out is certainly true. But if drafting a qb in the top 3 gives you a 23% chance to win the Super Bowl, seems worth it. Statistics.
