When does the Eberflus experiment end?
Got carved up by the worst QB in the league.

Short of the sticks. This team is dumb
He miracously avoided the sack and found the only person he knew would be open without being able to take thr time to look downfield.
Thats not a route being ran short of the sticks , lol
I'm talking about the receiver. You can't come back short, you need some awareness on where to try to shake loose

How do you retain Eberfool after this year?
There aren't any coordinators that could field a good NFL defense with this personnel. We just can't cover anyone on the back end, everyone is a rookie, hurt or terrible.
He'll be fired a a scapegoat but the onus is on the organization obtaining better players otherwise it won't matter.
When you have a shaky roster, the onus is on the organization to hire a guy whose philosophy is a better fit to maximize what you do have vs pounding square pegs into round holes and exacerbating your weaknesses
I thought he said he has been so good since he came to DallasKashchei said:

Cris, WTF are you smoking up there in the booth? Are you even watching this game.

And why do you suppose that at least 3 guys on our defense are having their worst seasons ever!?!

If I put four of us on this board in an NFL secondary, what scheme can be run to allow for success?
Now obviously that's an absurd extreme but it illustrates the point that at some point, your personnel can be bad enough that it no longer matter what you try to do. Our secondary is that bad. Donovan Wilson is the worst safety in coverage in the NFL. Hooker has been declining for two years now. Carson and Steward aren't NFL players. Revel is a rookie coming off a torn ACL. Bland is playing by far the worst football of his career and is giving up plays in every coverage he's asked to attempt.
Get better players or the new guy will be just as bad next year
Tag Pickens and trade him for a LB or edge that is worth a damnPatAg said:
No idea if we can realistically fix this defense in one offseason.
Step 1 is fire the DC

Depends entirely on if Overshown gets back to what he was and whether the young guys playing a ton this year take a step. No, you can't fix this and have a good defense with personnel acquisition alone in one offseason. You can get a lot better and be average though.
