Did the upgrade last night, and it appears to be working well this far.

I haven't been able to get it to work yet either.
I can't get any of the iPad 3 GSM versions to download from the link in the OP. They get to ~19mb and stall.

You can try http://imzdl.tumblr.com/. I haven't tried the links personally but I've used them in the past for ipsw's.
I used www.betaio.so last night to download the iPhone 4S GM, and it took less than 45 minutes.
Once you load the page, scroll down and use any of the direct links to download the files.

Generally, I like it a lot better, especially the turn by turn directions, but I don't like the lack of "Street View.

Well obviously yes, I read it like it was pushing notifications to him automatically with siri. Maybe he was just asking for updates.
Why would you use Siri for sports updates? If you're a sports fan you probably use ESPN / Sportacular already & if you're on Android the live widget is faster than using voice search. It's neat that it does it but fairly useless IMO.

Only used it once, but the turn by turn navigation is well done, especially in conjunction with Siri

It is also a passive way of keeping up to date. Sometimes it is fine to just find out the score when you want to, rather than an alert blaring at you every 15 minutes.
In tests, "do no disturb" mode doesn't work yet.

Yep, I noticed this last night...
In further testing, "Do Not Disturb" mode has worked for me today, but ONLY when the phone is locked.
