I don't have any good Fighting type. Therefore, I have struggled against them. However, I recently landed a Exeggutor that has been cleaning out the Fighters.

Nice. I finally found one last Friday just outside my office. Low level and crap IV, but it was about damn time. Then I finally hatched a Gible over the weekend. It feels somewhat rewarding after being so rare.Jackal99 said:

I have one but I don't have the dust or candy to level get it high enough or learn additional moves.
I've been using a gardevoir as my lead in ultra league, all these giratina owners get so confused when their health goes down so quickly. Just went 5-0 with a Gardevoir, Blaziken, Magnezone team

If you don't have ideal Pokmon for a certain league. Look at the most popular ones and build a team that can counter those guys. You should be able to get some wins if you play smart.
Doing some reading. Looks like Steelix is the goto. I need to power one up. It already has the right move set.
Went 4-1 with a Mamoswine, Snorlax with outrage and Swampert. Only loss was a surrender when I accidentally switched to snorlax vs. Lucario.
Giratina wrecks shop. So does swampert. Muddy water may not do a lot of damage, but it's fast and lowers your opponent's attack.
Went 4-1 in my first attempt at Ultra League with Alolan Muk, Swampert, and Altered Giratina. A few close victories. Only loss was due to a sync issue where my first Mon was defeated and then it let half of the next Mon's health run down before letting me attack

This is true. I ran into one and had no answers. Now I have my own. Swampert can destroy him due to his ground typing though. Muddy ware to draw shields and low his attack, hydro cannon to finish him.
I just got incredibly lucky. I didn't completely change out of the suggested team and didn't realize it until I was switching mid battle to counter an alolan muk. I had an arcanine instead of giratina altered. At one point, the guy put out swampert against my steelix, and I switched to my weakened swampert and wore him down until my swampert was knocked out. Then I put steelix back in to finish him off. I was way behind at that point because I'd lost swampert, steelix was 3/4 dead, and I was stuck with an arcanine with God knows what moves. He had an alolan muk that was maybe 75% and another mon I hadn't seen. I thought about just giving up, but the guy threw out a scizor against my steelix after his swampert ate it. I immediately switched to the arcanine and almost wasted him before the guy could even pull it back. Arcanine killed muk, but took a lot of damage. Scizor came out and hit me with a night slash, almost knocking arcanine out. I got in 1-2 more his before he fainted. Then steelix came back out with an unblockable crunch to finish the job. I had the tiniest sliver of health, but I won.
Alolan muks are nice to have for ultra league.

Tiniest sliver of health...the other day, we were both down to our last mon. He beat me to the charge attack and knocked me down when he had just a sliver remaining. I assumed I was dead since my HP went to 0. However, tThe screen was still open and both mon's were just looking at each other. I tapped on the screen and hit him once and took him out and won. Apparently, I had 1 HP left and you couldn't see it. HeHe!
btw...I am terrible but am enjoying it. Getting to see a lot of mon that I have never seen. Remember, I am only about 4 months into this addicction.

got my first gible on the drive home from work last night. Played a lot on sunday looking for one.
Wish the event lasted longer than a weekend. Couldn't accumulate enough 7 km eggs I wasn't going to spend on incubators to hatch the other eggs I already had.

I do gyms and Google rewards for surveys to get coins. Got an adventure box and used the regular incubators to get rid of my 5k's just before the event, then ran all the 2k's through my infinite. Put 7k's into the support incubators and got through maybe 30 of them. Still sitting on some Ava waiting to hatch them.
Those stories posted are what makes Battle League so fun. Even in loss, the matches are fun (unless it's for a BS tech reason)
Ultra league is fun. I think it widens the range of usable Pokmon. I've been running Gardevoir, Lucario, and Flygon and having some fun. Wish I had a Giratina. And I wish I knew this was going to be a thing so I could've saved my one high CP Swampert for this league.
What do you mean by, "I do gyms and google rewards"?

In addition, the Google Rewards app gives you a little money for taking mini surveys (and giving your data to Google). You can use that money toward the purchase of Pokecoins.
Jm94 got it. The Google rewards app gives you between ten cents and a dollar to answer surveys. They're random and not exactly steady, but they add up. Gyms can give 50 coins a day, and that adds up quick.

Same. I hate niantic's lack of, or very poor, communication on new features and roadmaps.
The implementation is getting to me again. I just had a match where a guy switched, then immediately reswitched as I let off a charge move. I watched the attack hit the first Pokemon and knock it out, but then it came back later as if I hadn't. I still have no idea what happened. The syncing just isn't there yet (for me at least). The pace is also too fast for requiring a menu to switch. I can't count the number of times I've been screwed into taking a charge or burning a shield because I had to open the menu and tap and it couldn't sync the switch fast enough. They either need to nerf attacks to slow it down or list your Pokemon on a side panel to select them.
I also ran into lag in three battles today where I got stuck taking damage but not dealing it. I don't know why I've got this so bad, but sometimes it's almost unplayable. Sometimes it's not as bad but still feels like I'm a half a second behind everything.
I'd also like to see something change with the switch timer. It gives the opening matchup far too much weight because it's too long. If you're at a disadvantage and change, they get to change as well and you're locked in unless you can duke it out or that knock you out. You get a switch, but you're down a Pokemon and their timer has already been ticking. They still hold a sizeable advantage. If anything, you should get lineup previews and get to choose your starter.
One last thing, I'd like to see a real training option. The team leaders are terrible. They're single typed, predictable, and stale. I also don't want to have to always go out and find someone to physically challenge. I'd like a battle league implementation for practice and actual training with random people, but without rewards. It would give people something to do between league rounds and an avenue to try out different teams and strategies against real opponents, not just the worthless team leaders.
