Yeah I got greedy and used my early artifacts on attack stuff. Now I'm having to go back and upgrade health and stamina etc.


Early game, getting stamina and health to level 4 is a gigantic help.

This game just keeps delivering for me. I am taking my time with everything in it and enjoying it. Normally I rush through games and then go back and play for the exploration and finding all the things that I didn't do during my play through. But I find myself seeing something and wanting to go look at it and get to it. Loving my time in this world

Based on all of the reviews saying it was a "jack of all trades" and master of none, I was going to skip out on it.

It said it was mildly elden ring, mildly BoTW, etc, but sounds like you guys are having fun with it so I may have to reconsider.

$70 is pretty steep though and I was already burned by BF6.

Its not perfect but first major patch addressed quite a few things. I expect more to be fixed as we go. Still having fun, jank and all.

I think a lot of the discourse around this game is shaped around what it isn't and what folks wanted it to be.

This is an open world sandbox action adventure. it is not a RPG driven by a narrative.

Watching a number of reviews it was pretty easy to see how folks approached it. Those who just wanted to live in the world and explore loved it where those who wanted a story to guide them or were trying to rush through a checklist for their review didn't.

I think you're crazy not to. Once you see the scope of it, you'll be in awe. Fast forward a week from launch and I'm not seeing any major critics hating on it. Hell, I've seen some fully turn around their opinions on it. I do however continue to see laughable comments online from people who haven't even played it, or that weren't going to like it no matter what. I can't put the damn thing down. I haven't been this hooked to a game to this level since San Andreas dropped in college.

Same, it's affecting my work haha….also, been telling myself I have an 11pm cutoff and haven't turned the damn console off before 1230 am a single night this week. So, if there's a knock I have on it, it's kind of ruining my productivity.

Sounds very similar. KCD2 has a good story (or I assume it does, I put in about 20-30 hours before I even went to the wedding and moved on from the Prologue) and have 69 hours on and am probably only 40% through the story.

Sounds interesting, i'll check it out.

How are the controls on K&M versus Game controller? I will be on PC and I hate playing PC games on a game controller.

It takes getting used to, but pro-tip: change default mouse acceleration to 100% to overcome the heavy feeling. I also remapped block and evade buttons from ctrl and alt to my extra mouse buttons.

Is the ps5 pro worth the upgrade over a regular ps5? I saw Sony announced they're actually raising prices on the PS5s, so thinking about grabbing one before the price increase goes into effect.

if you don't already have a ps5, I'd say yes. If you do, I'd probably hold out for the ps6, which should hit late next year or early 2028. I'm elated with mine, but as a qualifier, I'm just getting back into games not named FIFA or NCAA Football for the first time in over a decade, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

For this game specifically though, I do know the ps5 pro experience is quite an upgrade.

I've only ever had the PS5 Pro but I'm not sure why one wouldn't just get that if they are looking to upgrade a console. I went from an Xbox One X (ancient by console standards) to the PS5 Pro and I felt like I went from AOL to broadband internet.

anyone else besides me having to train themselves to not lock down on the block/shield button during combat? The offensive and counter moves in this game are so in depth that I'm having to retrain myself in how I normally approach melee combat.

It's still good these days!

My point was that the combat system and general feel of the controls is very bad.

Im cool with open world and no story, I have over 80 hours on Icarus, but this game feels hard to like. And Im a person who generally skips through the "story" parts of the game whether it be Cyberpunk 2077 or KCD2, for some reason I just skip the story **** and if I want to learn about it later, hit the journal.

I guess people say you have to slough through the first few hours to get to the "fun".

welp, definitely stumbled upon a bug. I haven't been able to greet anyone in a while. I've had this happen once before and reloading fixed it, but seems to still be the case after reloading now. Anyone else run into that issue? I was thinking I had run my bounty up too high or something or wearing the wrong type of armor, etc., but I don't see anything like that online.

I think 200 is low, I've heard estimates on the range of 400 at this point. I'd believe given how I am 10 hours in and have barely explored a fraction of the map.
