Don't look now...pretty decent chance for the Hill Country, i-35 corridor, and south/south east Texas.

Fingers crossed. Its getting very dry.

Shhh!! Don't say that!

Just for that you need to get a car wash and leave your windows down Sunday night.

Maybe water the yard for good measure.

Put some sideoats, indiangrass, green sprangletop, plains Bristlegrass, switchgrass, and Maximillian sunflower out in cedar cleared areas this afternoon. Late, but didn't make any difference this year.

Bring it!

If you're planning to float the Llano, you better have Kevlar bottoms.

Damn near dry under the Neal's bridge Friday when I drive across. Looked like everyone was crowded into the deep hole.

But y'all are supposed to get good rain early this week right?

Sounds like might just be seven bluff to frio country and if the wind is coming from the south we will float backwards

I doubt you'll be able to float at all. We've had very little rain this year and the Frio is really low. Outside of a 5" of rain between now and friday, I doubt you'll see much improvement.

Float from seven bluff to frio country is a deep section for 75% of the float from my remembering

It is deeper but it still has some shallow spots. I would plan on finding a deep pool and throwing up a pop up tent to hang out around. When the water is this low floats are not fun. I'll be there in June and doubt we'll be able to float from Frio Country to Neal's without hiking for 50% of the float.

Yeah we aren't planning on even trying that section

Finally getting some general rains across the Panhandle South Plains tonight

A long way from breaking the drought,, but it's a start and thank you, Lord

Edit: 1.4" on the farm. We got 0.25" a few weeks ago, that has been our total precip since October

Midland finally got some rain last night. First meaningful rain in 280 days. Local news said it was only a tenth of an inch, but it poured/hailed at our house for about 30 minutes and then a light off and on rain for about another hour after, so pretty sure we got more than .1".

The lack of reality is hilarious on here.

"A soggy setup brought the fifth-wettest May to Louisiana and Texas. California had its fourth-driest May, while Florida and Utah saw their ninth driest."

The reality is I measured 10.67" of rain in May of 2021 and 1.66" this month.

I've been a member of CoCoRahs since 2007 and have recorded rainfall daily for 15 years, so if you want to review all of the data you can find it here:

You're comparing this May to the fifth wettest May on record. How does this may compare to the 100 year average?

I had only .4 last night in Junction, most of it went north or south. That gives me a grand total, for what should be one of our wettest months, .55 for May. I have kayaked the South Llano River from the state park to town several times recently and you will have to get out drag a lot. The CFS flow is down around 35% from normal.

I monitor the upland areas alot, make a few trips a year to chase birds.

They've been getting a few good rains at important times. Much is still is stage 2 or 3 drought though.
