Back to year plus waits on stamps now that they're "free"??
Yeah...unintended consequences. But it sounds like DOGE is getting around to the ATF now so maybe there is hope.

I fully support President Trump’s agenda, 100%. Throughout this process, I have fought to improve the One Big Beautiful Bill in order to deliver as many conservative and fiscally responsible wins for the American people as possible.

Saw this am that GOA/NRA/ASA/NSSF are filing a lawsuit on the order that now that there is no tax stamp the NFA has no substance to have registration.
I am probably wording all that wrong but I watched two podcast on it this am.
It says what they did by taking the tax stamp away may have opened the door for getting the registration removed.
Guess we will see how that all plays out.
TheMemeGuy said:
I mean, I appreciate it but all this compromise is why our gov sucks right now. I'll take anything we can get and hopefully GOA and everyone else helping can get the repel done on the NFA title
The Republicans are truly pathetic, but we're getting cheaper tax stamps for NFA items, at least temporarily. With Democrats given full authority they'd repeal the 2nd amendment and try to confiscate all firearms with their brownshirts. There is a point to voting against the communist Dbags even if we don't get everything we want. The Sun said:
I agree 100%. I really blame Thune and JD Vance for not standing up for this in the senate.
At this point I don't really even know what the point is in voting any more. It's the same ****, different letter behind the name.
Republicans in Congress failed gun owners by failing to fully repeal the NFA in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

So now @TheJusticeDept gets to deal with GOA, our allies, and our One Big Beautiful Lawsuit.🔥🔥🔥 https://t.co/AUVYrDyBLQ
GOA and FPC are the true sentinels of the 2nd amendment, they are everything the NRA claims to be. A fraction of the size yet triple effective. Defense of freedom must be relentless and uncompromising, something those folks do very well. The Sun said:Republicans in Congress failed gun owners by failing to fully repeal the NFA in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Every anti-gun nut is claiming the allowing just anyone to purchase a suppressor will inhibit law enforcements ability to respond to an active shooter b/c the gun will be "silenced" and no one will hear it. Idiots.TheMemeGuy said:
It's a smoke show, everyone there takes care of everyone in that room and they all get rich doing it. Oh well, off my soap box, back to year long waits and backordered inventory.
ETA: I really think the majority of hunters and enthusiasts are seen as villains in a lot of eyes and these items (while make our lives better and easier) are seen as bad bad bad. So they are taking the stuff out to make re-election easier or to remain in good standing with the populace to get other things done
ETA2: I suck at spelling

Help an idiot. So, I still need a stamp and registration to have a suppressor or SBR…..but it's free ?
its the typical genius of our government. They removed the tax (income), but kept the registration (cost). No wonder we are trillions in debt with no sign getting out.Jason_Roofer said:

Everyone talks about 'chess moves' I don't think anyone in our government has the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time much less worry about thinking ahead. You are right. It's a basic negotiation.....ask for everything so you can settle for 'good enough for now'. If there is no money attached to it, then how can it be required to be registered? It just seems stupid. Isnt the NFA nearly a century old?shalackin said:its the typical genius of our government. They removed the tax (income), but kept the registration (cost). I would like to say that this was just a chess move to get it to pass, and then let the courts kill the NFA, but they don't care that much. It was just an attempt to play the middle.

Is it a chess move or a baby step?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems:
1. House republicans put it into the bbb to get it all removed
2. Senate parliamentarian strikes it due to some language she didn't like
3. Senate passes it
4. House at least puts the $200 tax removal back in
5 house passes it ?
