Turns out he was able to cut the correct wire with seconds to spare.
I went for ease, not cleanliness on the wiring. The part of my brain that wires vehicles and boats was definitely twitching until I closed the lid and everything worked and was hidden.

I posted my full blown cooler stereo build here once and it really ruffled some feathers. Your build looks great though. Great job doing it yourself and saving some money, and having fun with the process.
They're really neat, just be courteous with your usage is all. If you're out in the country where only you and your friends are hearing it, it's all good.
I just hate the people who go to like the neighborhood pool and think everyone there wants to hear what they're listening to. It's rude.

ROPS real men didn't have ROPS. On that 4020 pulling the stalk puller I would've needed one like Marty McFly had and it would've needed to bury dirt proof. That thing was like pulling a dirt fountain.
I have lots of admiration for and inspiration from your portable, Bluetooth, outdoor speaker. Very cool!

These are cool and I'm glad yall had fun putting these together. I do love my Turtle Box. The waterproof feature near the pool/lake is very nice. I also feel like it projects sound very well outside with a bunch of kids yelling. Obviously we can all debate how much anything is "worth it", but I've been surprised how much I like it. I've got my eye on one of the new smaller versions.

Just get the JBL that fits in a cupholder. They get plenty loud and they go on sale on prime day and Black Friday for like $50.

Cool Build. My neighbor is the President of Turtle Box so I likely won't be trying this…I can only imagine the comments I would get if I showed up to the neighborhood block party with a knockoff.

If you own one already then I think you owe it to him to show up with a home made one. It's the guy way.
Gonna give it a try. HF has the bigger case on sale for 35 if anyone's interested.

Mine is the Apache 2800 and that's a 6x9 speaker. Bought the case at Harbor Freight.

I didnt get all the hype over Turtleboxes until we were at the lake a few weeks back. Son brought his for the afternoon so we could have something to listen to for the afternoon. We're stopped in a cove and swimming, hanging out chillin. Next thing I know sploosh! He chunks it in 60 ft of water. That thing never missed a beat, just floating around thumpin water off the speaker all afternoon.

I got my Turtlebox Maverick for Kayaking. It's been great and love that I can have it synched up in the kitchen if I have guests out on the deck with the regular box.
This looks like a fun project though. My son has been wanting one so I'm going to show him this thread and hopefully we'll have a fun project to work on before he goes back to A&M. I've flat out told him no on buying him a Turtle, but it would be worth a few bucks for some time together.
