They haven't. There are 3 air assets around Center Point right now. The USCG Ocean Sentry, a Customs and Border Patrol helo, and a Lifeteam helo.

Hope they can identify the 2 very soon. Still praying for Dermdoc and everyone.

At this point, it is all reports based off a single, unconfirmed news article. I am hopeful, but skeptical.

It's possible that the officials won't name the girls publicly and let the parents do it, but that just seems strange they wouldn't report a rescue if it was verified at that point. Maybe the sheriff had not put physical eyes on the girls yet or they weren't Camp Mystic girls.

I don't trust Rusty at all for anything, but he is specific about his source being the "Kerr County Lead". I don't know how you could screw that up, so I am cautiously optimistic.

Seems legitimate. Whether they are two of the girls missing from Mystic or not, they are someone's girls, and it's wonderful they were found.

Rusty was a great reporter back when I was in school and now everything seems like gossip, hearsay, or something political designed to stir up arguments.

AFAIK they haven't discussed any rescue specifics. Just concrete numbers of people they have rescued. I would certainly hope the Kerr County Lead would be their verified source, but we did have that whole business with the Judge verifying everyone was accounted for. I think we just have to pray at this point that it's miraculous news for several families.

How long in advance was the presser scheduled? They went live at 2:45PM central (about the same time as yesterday's) but the reports that two more girls were found was only about 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to that and it was basically social media from people that were purportedly involved in the search and rescue as it was occurring.

That's a short period of time considering you first have to rescue them, get them to the hospital if they are injured (someone said they might have been flown into San Antonio) and notify the familes.

Also, it sounded like they did find other bodies in the vicinity... so that complicates matters and you wouldnt want to rush a feel-good presser and risk getting the details incorrect. The families and their loved ones are the most important thing now.

Im just as eager as everyone else for good news, but patience is in order here.

I live in far north San Antonio, near Fair Oaks, and confirm 2 or 3 helicopters have flown over in the last couple of hours from the direction of the hill country toward the medical center area. Hoping it is those found alive.

I hate being told to be patient.
