Yes Harvey lingered around and dropped 15-20 (update 45-60 inches ) inches of rain in Houston, the flooding was the worse Houston has had in years

Unless those boots on the ground were the ones who actually laid eyes on the thing they were updating, I would take it with a grain of salt. I thought we were trying to avoid hearsay in this thread, but I guess not. Another poster said they heard a dam was failing. Another wild statement with the only source being given are their own ears.

In 2007, I was living in San Marcos, and we had 20+" of rain in July because of cut-off lows dumping rain on us.

Prayers sent that San Antonio doesnt get flooded.

I can't imagine the loss of life if there's major flooding in SATX... it's difficult to stay alive with a rain shower with the san antone drivers

I haven't seen confirmation but the people updating are pretty on top of not adding/updating if there is no proof from family. Some girls that have been confirmed aren't listed as found yet. They wait until they get a screenshot from family to update

There is heavy rain just NW of Kerrville, drifting slowly south. The same cloud came through Junction a little over an hour a go and dropped a quick .25 inch but it looks larger and more organized now. And, another well developing line of storms north of Menard moving south toward Junction and probably toward Kerrville again. It won't take much to see some rise on the Guadalupe R.

Folks, be VERY careful with GoFundMes right now. I just saw one for the Harber family (grandparents and 2 grandkids died, parents made it). Started by a friend.

The Harbers are quite well off financially. He's an attorney and they live in a very nice part of Dallas. I cannot imagine they want or need a GoFundMe. Assuming this friend is legit (I have no reason to say they aren't).

I understand the desire to "do something", but be smart about it.

Kerr county. 68 confirmed. I think 28 kids said

11 from mystic missing still. 10 kids and 1 counselor.

About 18 kid and 10 adults still not identified. Bad signal. Sorry trying my best.

There's a fine line between timely news updates and hearsay in times like these. Trouble has been posting here for 18 years - I've been straddling the same line getting updates from a former counselor and am more than willing to give her some grace because a) she's good people and b) times like these are tough for everyone

To clarify the "dam break" this was taken from the account of a 9 year old who survived and described the wall of water as "the dam breaking"

Additionally, for those who aren't familiar with the area, there are lots of very small damns on both the north and south fork of the Guad that create pools but don't stop water from flowing over the top. If one of those broke, it would not be the same as say the Canyon Lake or Lake McQueeny dam etc.

I refreshed the page and it looks like it may have been an error, with Lainey (confirmed recovered) possibly being mixed up with another girl.

Currently there are a handful of children from Mystic still marked as "missing". Likely some of them have indeed been recovered but out of respect of information I would hope they are being diligent with sources.

I also see (FlightRadar) what I think is a Customs helicopter N3938A following the river upstream toward Kerrville. Pretty cool to see the number air assets they can call up when needed.

I've been holding out hope that somehow these babies were swept down the river, but managed to make it out. Then just went into the nearby woods thinking help would be on the other side, and now are just lost in the woods. Praying this is true and for all unaccounted for to be found safe.

That it is not what I was referencing. Poster called rab4225 posted on the top of page 41 that , "They were hearing possible damn failure ". That was in response to posters saying that people were being asked to evacuate.

People can survive a very long amount of time if water is available. I'm praying they are all just lost but safe
