derm, so very sorry for your loss.

I've read every word of this thread, and your faith through all of this has been incredible to see.

For whatever it's worth, I can't even remember the last time I prayed but I just did for Mary Grace and everyone else involved.

I am so deeply sorry to all of those affected. I have followed this thread clinging for positive news however the greater plan is not for me to understand. Specifically to the Ags that were affected by this, please know while I have not met many of yall I have prayed deeply for you and your families. I am in Brazil at the moment and will look for a pink ribbon and a tree.

Rest in peace Mary Grace Baker and Hadley Hanna.
I'm continually devastated by this tragedy, and both families are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

Those still missing:
Cile Steward
Blakely McCrory
Greta Toranzo
Molly DeWitt
Kellyanne Lytal
Margaret Sheedy
Virginia Hollis
(if any additional Mystic girls are missing that I am unaware of, please do share)

Lord, let these families have closure.
Pink ribbons from Ohio.

In the group pic of Bubble Inn, with all the girls identified, there is an Ellen Getten.

I haven't seen her name on any of the lists. Was she found?

Also, Katherine Ferruzzo (their counselor) is still missing.

Ellen Getten has not been found.

I noticed she wasn't listed anywhere as well, but heard from someone who works with her dad that she is still missing.

I just wanted to post a partial overview of the resources that have come to help the State of Texas.

Thank you all.

I don't have a tree or a ribbon in international waters. So, a stock photo will have to do for now.

Right now what I'm seeing is the need for people with skills in search and recovery.

The Salvation Army in Kerrville is organizing the volunteer effort:

All volunteer efforts and donation coordination are being directed through The Salvation Army Social Services Office, located at 855 Hayes St., Kerrville, TX.

If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our website or social media pages to sign up.

Anyone with Bonfire confirm this?

Quote:

To those of you who support Bonfire, know that you are a critical part of this. This is what your support for these Aggies achieves, far beyond the Woods…

I got a call yesterday from a group with Kerr county's disaster response and recovery operations. They desperately needed working experience in timber, brush, and debris. Ideally, a self-directing group with an established command structure, and regular practice in inhospitable conditions. Of course, they were looking for Bonfire. Their commitment not being mine to give, I connected with student leadership to see if they were in a position and willing to help. I found that they were already in that area - without ever having been asked - and had already been working elsewhere. They were eager for an objective that best leveraged their unique abilities in service to others. They immediately connected with the coordinator. With their new mission, they flew back to Aggieland, resupplied, and an advance team was back on site that evening with equipment, and worked until dark. Coordinating with local teams, that night they refined their plans for the next day. More Aggies with the required operational experience would be joining them the next day and through the week. Having a plan to work to maximum effect and safety were imperative.

The situation is constantly changing, but as of now, they operate as a mobile tactical debris removal team, clearing the way for dogs, searchers, and rescuers. They have been briefed on what to expect. They know the hazards, but they likewise know their capacity - and so their duty - to meet them. I spoke with them last night and am struck by their resolve and sober measure of the situation and their role in it. I am in awe of their courage and selfless service, and eternally grateful for the endlessly-serving Aggies of Bonfire.

I will be connecting with them again this evening when their day's work is done to see what they need. I'll update accordingly.

If Dion says it, take it as completely legit when it comes to any matter Bonfire related.

Correct. Dion is one of the official administrators of Student Bonfire and still basically runs everything for Student Bonfire.
I'm still trying to catch up from last night, so it might be somewhere in the thread I haven't got to yet. But, is there a direct way to contribute to the care and feeding of these Aggies and to support their mission? If so, please post it or DM me. If there are specific needs (tools, gas, or whatever), please let that be known as well.

These people are the embodiment of the Aggie Code and I would be proud to help support them!

Thanks!

. Got this this morning from Brazos county A&M club.

BCAMC Family:

We wanted to share a powerful example of Aggie leadership and selfless service. In response to this weekend's tragedy in Central Texas, the student leaders of Student Bonfire have mobilized to respond to the Kerr county's disaster response and recovery operations' direct request to assist with timber, brush, and debris clearing operations on the ground.

These students are volunteering their time and physical labor to help families in need, and they are doing so with remarkable heart and humility. Their advisor recently posted an update on their efforts, which you can read here on Facebook.

The Brazos County A&M Club is making a donation to support these young leaders, but more help is needed. If you'd like to contribute directly to Student Bonfire's efforts in Kerr County, you can donate through their website:
https://bonfire.ag/#support

Please be sure to annotate your gift with "Kerr County Disaster Support" so the funds are directed appropriately. Donations via Venmo are accepted through the link provided on their page.

Their advisor has confirmed that any funds not used directly by Student Bonfire for this mission will be donated to the broader Kerr County relief fund.

Derm, when my best friend died and it was posted here (he spent a year at TAMU), we printed out the pages where people were offering their condolences and gave them to his parents. They didn't use Texags and likely wouldn't have given the circumstance. I do believe they appreciated the gesture, Mary Grace's parents may one day appreciate reading some of the last few pages of responses?
