My parents left their home on the north fork yesterday for the first time to come to my house. They said even though they've seen lots of videos on Facebook and the news the devastation was still staggering. Debris and destruction everywhere. The roads there follow the river so it's constant.

Everything looks completely different. The river used to be surrounded by Cypress trees and those are gone. I noticed that on the Camp Mystic footage. You could see the camp from the road which wasn't really possible before. There was a hideous concrete wall that was put up right in the middle of Hunt that blocked the view of the river, luckily that was destroyed.

My mom was on the phone with a friend last night that lives near Waltonia. She said two of her neighbors houses were robbed sometime in the last two days.

Maybe this was already shared but hearing Pat Green's younger brother, his younger brother's wife, and their 2 kids are unaccounted for. I saw this on his wife's IG.

I heard from a buddy close to recovery efforts that the numbers may be WAYYYY higher than we have been told. The number of people that were out camping etc for the weekend and their families were unaware they were there.

Edit to add: this is the Burgess family from Liberty (the one whose daughter was at CLH; and the dad was found first and the mom yesterday). John was PG's half brother.

That pattern is very standard when flying an imaging package. We have software that tracks methane emissions monitoring flights and those are the kinds of patterns always flown by those planes.

I dont doubt you guys with kids are getting hit harder emotionally than those of us without, but I gotta tell you as someone who is just dreaming of having kids, its still really really not great.

Blakely's loss really hits hard. I just can't imagine. Her mother has had an incredible amount of loss and really needs all the prayers possible. Amazingly (and not surprisingly), her message was extremely positive and uplifting despite her uninamginable loss.

Kerr Co SD has said this in multiple PCs. Not only do we not know who was just camping with families or on private land, RV parks don't always have an accurate number of people in each RV

I have worked with J3 on projects around San Antonio. They are solid people.

my friend who coordinated with hospitals during the appalachia storms said that we will probably never know the full count. she was in charge of sending body bags where they needed to go. harrowing stuff.
