I've struggled all week to post something, as nothing I'll say can begin to bring comfort to anyone this has affected. I'm a Longhorn who found myself here for the first time last weekend, and I have been glued to this board since. I grew up an Aggie, surrounded by Aggies, and decided to rebel in college. The Aggie community will always be a part of me. We have a large pink ribbon for Mary Grace and all of the girls on a tree here in Fort Worth. I have never cried or prayed so much for complete strangers, multiple times per day. I hope all of the families and friends know that people all over Texas (and the world) are grieving with them. From the sweet girls at Camp Mystic to vacationing families to locals to first responders to those still missing… all of it. Truly grieving. No matter what colors we bleed or school we root for this fall, this is a tragic reminder that we are Texans, Americans, and most importantly, brothers and sisters in Christ. God bless you all.

Longhorns. Aggies. We all love our families and friends and our state. After what has transpired this last week If you can't put the rivalry and sports in its proper place in order of priority I really don't know what to say to you.

I'm an Aggie and have been married to a longhorn for 32 years. She's a great woman and everyone would be blessed to include her as a friend Her whole family are longhorns. Two of our closest friends for over 40 years are longhorns and each have lost little Mystic angels to this tragedy. And I'm thinking a lot of the little girls lost have longhorn blood. Hopefully one outcome of this is that all of us will in the future view the rivalry in its proper perspective. I know that's probably pie in the sky. But an Aggie can hope.
You're from down South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

Is there any update on the girls still missing? Cile, Ellen, and I see that sweet little Virgina is still missing as well. Praying so hard they can be reunited with their families so that they can have the closure they deserve. Lord be with them!

The last Mystic Bubble Inn counselor was found

Per gage Goulding: An updated statement from the Ferruzzo family:

"On Friday, July 11, 2025, Katherine Ferruzzo's remains were found. We are incredibly grateful to all the search and rescue professionals and volunteers who have remained steadfast in their efforts to locate the victims of this tragedy. We would especially like to thank the Texas Rangers.
Katherine, a recent graduate of Memorial High School, had been accepted to The University of Texas at Austin this fall and planned to become a Special Education teacher.

The Katherine Ferruzzo Legacy Foundation is being established to honor Katherine and her compassion for those with special needs and learning differences. We will share a link with donation details in the coming days.

We would like to thank the Houston and Camp Mystic communities for their unwavering support and for allowing us to mourn this tragedy in private. We are heartbroken for the other families and pray for all who have been affected."

Continued prayers for all the families.

Another silly thing that I'd like to share. I'm not sure why or what the point of sharing this is. I've been pretty emotional since following this thread and thinking about my own young daughter. I guess it is therapeutic for me in some way.

About a year ago, I started writing down funny things that my daughter has said and I call it my book of "(Daughters name) - isms". The first section is her "vocabulary" of saying things in a funny way. One example, she would pronounce vacations as baycations. The next section is the "isms" or funny things she has said. She is an incredibly happy and positive kid and I hope that never goes away. One time, I asked her how she is always so happy all the time. She said, I just like to be happy, Daddy. That's one of my favorite entries in the book.

I wish I started this earlier because there are things she has said that I have forgotten.

Sadly no news about these three girls. Virginia and Cile's families have been active on social media and have confirmed that they have not yet been recovered. Ellen's family has managed to stay out of publicity.

As a SPED teacher, this hurts. She seemed like such a kind and caring soul. I have been hoping she would be found.

I saw the Cajun Navy post that they had found an adult female and was grateful another family would have closure. Not speculating who it was (genuinely have no idea who it was, but glad a family would have closure), but I had been praying it was Katherine

With Katherine Ferruzzo being found, the final unaccounted for person in Bubble Inn is Ellen Getten.

Her family seems to have been silent and her story mostly untold. The Bubble Inn story has really stuck with me so I've been paying attention to their stories. I so hope she is found in rapid fashion.

This is amazing. I do this two with our 3 kids!

Little silly things that will eventually be forgotten. Like my son thinking Lake Tahoe is "Lake Taco", etc. writing these things down because Lord knows we're exhausted these days and will forget them

Naw you won't forget them. When my daughter was first learning to talk we needed an interpreter to figure out what she was saying. When I'd leave to go somewhere she'd say "Becatchu Daddy".......meaning be careful. She was walking around saying "oshaggie" and we couldn't figure it out until she came back with one in her hand that it was "washrag". That sweet little girl turns 50 this Aug 3..................... You'll never forget........

I need to start writing them down.

"Farmer John Cheese" is one of my favorites, from my 6 y/o. When she correctly pronounced it as Parmesan cheese...it hit different.

Ribbons are up for our newly-minted Angels. May God's love continue to overwhelm the families that are suffering from this tragedy.

That group pic of the girls in Bubble Inn makes my stomach turn. It's one of the images that has haunted me the most.

I know we have heard accounts of what happened that lead to all the girls in Bubble being lost. Has anyone said what happened to lead some of the Twins girls to being lost? Were they in the process of being evacuated with Bubble?

Same for my 6 year old saying "on-gion" and "oit-meal" and 8 year old with the "grandmawl"

The 2 year old hit us with the "Gringo?" The other day which he meant "where did Grammy go" and I haven't stopped laughing for days with that one

I've stopped correcting some of these because they so miniscule in the grand scheme but will be upset for sure when they stop.

I don't correct any of them. My oldest (now 30) said tamoke instead of remote for so long that we still call it that in our house. The 9 year old still sometimes slips up and says ramoon instead of maroon. I cried when he stopped saying lello and efflump.

Beaumont showed up. Standing room only for the funeral.
And the police officers all had pink bows on the back of their motorcycles and formed an "honor corrridor" of about 20 motorcycles.
Poured my first Woodford double oaked. Definitely will be booze at my last gig. This sucks.

Aiden's grandad was a Federal Judge and good friend who passed several years ago. Gave me a pocketknife I still have. Have known the family for decades which is common in Beaumont. Best people in the world.

I hate to bring this up again, but I'm sorry I missed where this was posted: was Bubble trying to evacuate and got washed away? Were they still in their cabin and got "washed" out?

What happened to them? Or where can I find that? I've been wondering that as well.

And like you, I've wondered about Twins as well. What happened that some of them were taken but others lived?

In one of the earlier pages, someone said that a camper conveyed that Dick Eastland and his son were trying to move the Bubble girls to the Rec (I think) in his truck, when the large wall of water hit, washing the truck and everyone away.

I don't know how accurate that account is, but it would make sense since the entire cabin was lost, including Dick Eastland.

The only girl who was not in Twins or Bubble who was lost was said to have run back to the cabin to grab something. Again, that was passed on from a camper a few pages back, so I don't know how accurate.

Gotcha. I saw the story about the single camper from Jumble (maybe) that had supposedly gone back for the bedding. And I remember seeing the comments about Dick and some girls in his truck, but I must have missed the part about the other Bubbles girls being with him (back of his truck maybe?).

Thanks for filling me in.

Despite Texas being such a big state, I feel like in the past week it has gotten a whole lot smaller. The degrees of separation between those impacted by this flood are way too small. My heart goes out to those more impacted than me, and I can't seem to stop from tearing up. Prayers to all.
