The body of the final Beaumont victim has been located. I am thankful this dad is no longer having to search.

Aiden's grandad was a Federal Judge and good friend who passed several years ago. Gave me a pocketknife I still have. Have known the family for decades which is common in Beaumont. Best people in the world.

I didn't put two and two together on the last name til I saw his dad was Thad Heartfield, Jr. I met the judge long ago while interning at the federal court. Seems like a great family; so glad he found his boy. May he rest in peace.

In one of the earlier pages, someone said that a camper conveyed that Dick Eastland and his son were trying to move the Bubble girls to the Rec (I think) in his truck, when the large wall of water hit, washing the truck and everyone away.

I don't know how accurate that account is, but it would make sense since the entire cabin was lost, including Dick Eastland.

The only girl who was not in Twins or Bubble who was lost was said to have run back to the cabin to grab something. Again, that was passed on from a camper a few pages back, so I don't know how accurate.

To add on, it does appear that approx half of the Twins cabin girls did make it, including the counselors for that cabin. What exactly happened there is all speculation. They could have been on foot, literally washed out of windows, etc. I haven't seen any first hand accounts from the survivors of the Twins cabins.

I've been following a former coworker on Facebook. Her sister along with 4 family members (one a child) have been missing from the RV park in Kerrville that was hit so hard. Earlier she posted that her BILs wallet and RV keys had been found. Just now she posted that one family member has been found, deceased, that's all she knows now. Prayers for the Knetsch and Meyers family.

I grew up down the road from the Knetsch family. G used to give me a ride to school. We farmed their land. I am praying for their safety.

I got word today that Gary Knetsch's body has been identified. His wife, daughter, and son-in-law's bodies have also been identified. The granddaughter is still missing.

Three generations all gone. Very, very sad.

I got to thinking that I first met Gary about 45 years ago. Where does the time go? A reminder to stay in touch.

Prayers for the Knetsch family right now.

Several friends interned with Judge Hatfield. Great family.

It seems they were lost trying to escape the waters. I am continuing to maintain the family's privacy by redacting the child's name, but the info that was passed to my family on Sunday states "[the grandmother] was able to talk to one of [Twins Camper's] best friends from camp. She said she saw [Twins Camper] and another girl holding on to a tree. But the water was coming so fast and then she saw [them] get swept away by the water. No updates on actually finding her yet. And unclear who the other little girl was."

Again, this was six days ago when we were told this.

This displaced Texan is heartbroken, and has never hated being so far away from home this much. My heart will always be in the Hill Country. I can't post pictures, but I'm flying my Texas flag and I've tied several green ribbons to honor all of these little girls, the brave souls who fell trying to save them, and everyone else lost in these floods. Lord knows that the tears that have been, and will continue to be shed over this tragedy, would be enough to send a second flood down the river…

This is fairly accurate, but Dick's son went to Twins and Dick went to Bubble. The older girl who was lost went back to Jumble House for a special blanket from what I heard and was lost.

So many families that will never be the same. A true tragedy in every sense of the word.

I continue to pray for all of those impacted.

This is going to have so many layers of impact -

The kids who were there; the kids who are dealing with loss at so young an age (some of them have lost several friends, when you consider that some neighborhoods lost more than one girl); the communities that have lost multiple family members; families that have lost multiple members.

It's been said countless times, but this is just so devastating.

Not to mention the horrific trauma being relived over and over, as well as survivor's guilt. All involved will need support from everyone.

God bless the people of Texas. They come together in times of tragedy and need unlike any other. My roots are deep in this state, and I have always felt their sincere embrace of God, family and community.

This is meaningless, i dont really have a dog in this hunt.
However ive read all 96 pages of this thread. Im at least 500 of the 2MM views. I grew up in Beaumont and grieve with Dermdoc, and celebrate with those that had their family come home.

Chili and ducks4brkfast, I love you deeply, even if you don't know me. I have cried, and for the first time in decades even prayed. I am so thankful to tangentially be associated with you folks due to a school or a website.

I love this huge family of ours.

Five girls from twins 1 and 2 each were lost and a counselor from twins 1. Total of 11 girls. Each cabin had 15 girls and 2 counselors so 11/34 were lost ~1/3. The twin sisters who died were in separate cabins in Twins 1 and 2.

*Edit* actually just 15 total girls per cabin including counselors so 11/30 still ~1/3

15 girls were lost from Bubble along with Dick Eastland.

One girl from Jumble house

Hazel has been doing great. Better than I could have imagined. My wife is taking it pretty hard but being as strong as she can. She went to Camp Mystic every summer growing up and was a counselor there too. It was hard for her to see everything when we went back to pick up Hazels things that were found, but we met Glenn and that was really good for both of us.

Also one of her friends from camp had a daughter there who still hasn't been recovered.

The amount of volunteers down here in Hunt/Ingram is amazing. These people are going to need a lot of help. Pictures don't do it justice. Once the heavy equipment is gone they are going to need a ton of help picking up the river and the community. River looks like an F5 tornado rolled through.

I might share pics later but will probably wait a few days until it's taken all in and I am back home. Especially since media has been looking at this thread.

I know nothing about Camp Agape, but after Mom died, Dad and I went to The Warm Place in Fort Worth. If you don't know, it's basically group counseling that puts you in groups based on your specific circumstances. So, Dad joined a group of parents who had lost spouses and I joined a preteen group who had lost a parent. We went for probably 1.5 years and he became a counselor there for a little while. It helped me, among other things, to not feel like I was out of place as an 11 year old whose mom died. And I know it helped him immensely to have others to interact with.

I would encourage anyone on this thread to look into something similar should the need arise. No idea if Camp Agape is legit or what other legit places there are, but The Warm Place was such a benefit to my family.

There were motorhomes, skid steers, track hoes on gravel bars very close to water when I left this afternoon. If you know anyone staying down there, make sure they are aware.

So yesterday I was in Comal County in the Rebecca Creek area and drove down to the boat launch area where Rebecca Creek flows into the Guadalupe. There was a roadblock at the launch and three newer trucks- all identical- White with a camper top and a logo on the door. I think the logo was orange and maybe the name of the agency or what have you started with a B. Kind of a circular logo.

I should've taken a picture- just wondering if anyone knows who that was. it looked to me like they were just kind of sitting in their trucks- at least two of the three trucks had a person or two in side them. This was about 4pm Riday July 11. Are these contracted federal workers?

Prayers for safety. May the storms pass quietly tonight.
