Prayers for all the victims and their families and friends. I grew up in Beaumont and many of the girls I went to school with would go to those camps during the summer.
I read that several of the missing kids are from Beaumont.

Maybe old news but a friend of mine was just reunited with their son who was at La Junta so I guess those kids were able to get into town finally.

Oh no, didn't realize he has passed. Sat next to him at final four a couple years ago and he told me about his dad playing for A&M. Very nice guy.
I believe he has cancer but his passing was unexpected.

Damn. I hope this is not the case, but I am about 95% sure that is the daughter of one of my clients. Same last name and he lives in Kerrville and has a daughter her age. Man this is awful.

What a tragic event for all involved. Only silver lining is the compassion and support expressed here and across the state…a reminder that we all love and share common values.

9yo from dallas I believe also found. Horrific for sure but found is better than never recovered. Still praying for more rescues.

I'm so concerned about posts on X citing confirmed deaths yet nothing from authorities. This is a living nightmare. I don't know if I can sleep tonight.
I have a friend whose nephew has lost a daughter. Heartbreaking.
Our two close friends still haven't heard anything about their granddaughter and niece. What a horrible night they will endure.

Unfortunately some families are discussing it publicly once they have been notified as next of kin. The authorities aren't going to confirm anything until all 23-25 are accounted for. I'm so sorry, the waiting has to be horrible.
While it's extremely unfortunate to those families still waiting. I can only imagine the amount of questions these families are getting so I can understand them letting people know the terrible news.
Just listening to Abbott's press conference. Multiple times he stated everyone will be recovered, even though hopeful for further rescues. I spent several days along the Blanco leading teams of 7-10 volunteers, with and without cadaver dogs after the 2015 Memorial day flood. I was dead set on finding the McComb children or whomever was still missing. I failed that mission and for most tasks felt we were only 1% effective in the very limited areas we were tasked with. A needle in a haystack would have been a million times easier. My heart breaks for those families as it still does for Jonathan McComb, and I pray for both rescue and recovery for all, hoping that I am wrong in that some will never be found.

As a parent who picked up my Mystic child this evening after being evacuated by Blackhawk - I have no words. She just keeps saying I hugged so many of them last night before I went back up to senior hill.
I pray for miracles and the families who have lost so much. The Eastlands have raised my daughter for 9 years every summer- I could trust no family more than Tweety and Dick. Pray for the families waiting and the survivors. There is a lot to overcome for the entire Mystic family.

My neighbor and very good friend's daughter is still missing. Keep those prayers up.
Last night my brother was able to reunite with his 2 boys who were at La Junta and hearing his wife relay the details of what they went through is shocking. They had to climb the rafters of the cabin to escape the flood waters which only subsided when the wall of the cabin blew out. They came very close to being swept away.
The older boy seems to be ok mentally but the younger one sounds like he has some PTSD.

Same. My 8yo son awoke to yelling. He was on bottom bunk and water was at bottom of mattress. Said they climbed to top bunks and then the things on top of shower, I guess rafters, and then the water went down, wall got knocked out, and they were able to wade out the door. He was in cabin 5. We were in a much better place because La Junta sent out all accounted for texts starting at 6:26 AM. Mystic wasn't able to do the same. Gutted for them. Our Daughter supposed to be there in August. Herding boys is a lot different in this scenario than herding girls. I just can't imagine. Going back out at daylight to help. Buddy had to ID his 8yo at morgue. Our boy seems fine but they were pretty insulated from all the news across the other camps.
