The McCombs were on my mind all day yesterday. Bless you for trying to help them. Johnathan's sister-in-law was my roommate at A&M. She posted that he's working with TEXSAR right now to search for the missing. I can't imagine how he must be feeling. This is beyond heartbreaking. Praying for miracles.

Father God we lift these precious families up to you. Lord our savior, please in some way bring peace and comfort in such an awful moment here here on earth.

We under the gun here in the Burnet/Bertram area. I know I got close to 6 inches of rain yesterday and this storm is dumping at least 5 to 6 inches per hour & very Slow moving. The San Gabriel river runs through our place but also Cow Creek is few miles down the road as well.

I think the judge got confused about there being 2 Camp Mystics in the area. The newer Camp Mystic Cypress Lake that opened in 2020 is the one that all campers were accounted for and safe. The original Camp Mystic is the one that flooded and still has missing campers.

I'm just west of junction at deer lease. I have thermal on a helmet. I don't want to go down there and get in the way, but am available if I can be of any assistance.

We have a place in Hunt. Staying away to not add to the problem.

Intermittently texting with a neighbor up there. It's bad.

Not trying to be morose and holding everyone (missing, found, friends, and family) in my heart and in my prayers but I have a question for the more learned outdoors and survival folks on here:

When does search and rescue become search and recovery? Whats the general time frame the body can survive in the local conditions?

I couldnt sleep all last night thinking about what these girls went through 24 hours earlier. Eventually moved to the couch which is a little dusty apparently. Just doesn't seem right or fair. Why do these ALWAYS happen on holidays and at night?

Praying for a Miracle because miracles happen.

I have been doing the same and find a lot of comfort in trusting in the Lord. I just feel so bad for my nephew and his wife and the other parents. The kids will be with the Lord.

Thats why I'm asking. Have the water levels gone down? I've been through Harvey and that's it for floods. Very ingnorant to how these work in the hill country. I always thought they were like a tidal wave but then the water level would go down fairly quickly after. Obviously that's not true. This is just Awful.

I got text all last night and already early this morning from our Bible study and Church prayer group of prayer still for Mary Grace. Still praying hard.
We love you you and your family. Don't give up.

Continuing prayers for your family and for all of those affected by the floods. Our God is still in the miracle-working business. He will do anything in order to draw his children to Him. He gave us Jesus.

Praying for you guys. My wife knows Mary Grace's dad from A&M. Cant imagine what they're goin through right now.

There's still lots of fast moving water and more rain coming. I would not be shocked if it became search and recovery at some point today. There may be some miracles.

My kids attended and worked at some of the camps in the area over the years. This has been so hard to keep up with and process. We continue to pray and hope for the best for all that are involved with this tragedy.

Still no word on Lytal or McCown girls from Twins Cabin. Praying for miracle at this point.

I imagine the drone and helo thermals are $$$$$$ high end and would pick up heat signatures better. Plus they can be above all the storm debris.

I imagine he is trying to fill a hole that will never be filled by helping prevent other parents from having to endure same. I was at the ECO the day he was released from hospital, he came and thanked us before going out on our search missions. I recall thinking he had lost 35 lbs in 3-4 days from grief. No husband, father, SIL should have to go thru what he did that night and all the days following.

I believe she ran the searches after the public first responders terminated their efforts. She was determined as was he. I may have initially volunteered through her once the private search started.

Sending prayers to everyone. My daughter goes to Mo Ranch, but she wasn't scheduled until late July. She had many friends at both Stewart and Mystic this summer. And all of her friends are safe. Praise be to God for that.

I'm near the area and have college boys ready to help but do NOT want to get in the way of any efforts. Anyone know how to best utilize physical labor today for SAR or clean up? We'll do whatever we can to help most helpful. Thank you.

Finding out that at least 4 classmates of my son were at LaJunta and their sisters (2 girls) were at Mystic
All 5 are accounted for if not already home. The girls aren't doing well right now mentally. It's going to take a long time for them to recover from it.

First, that is excellent news. Its traumatic. Its just PTSD... no way around it. Counseling. They probably need it.

Our good friends were notified yesterday that their daughter at Mystic is safe, and is being evacuated this morning by helicopter. Two of her best friends apparently had to kick out a window in their cabin and scramble up a hill to safety Thursday night, but fortunately all are safe now.

Is there a reliable report on the number of girls from Mystic who are still missing?
