Good morning from Colorado county. It's quiet here so far-except the duck hunters on the river.

Victoria County with my 10 year old.

4 does, a young 10pt and an decent 8pt seen so far.

Bosque county. Not much activity but we have a had a constant drizzle for over an hour

Callahan County, nice and cool, deer are moving

Llano county checking in. One small doe so far this morning. Last night saw a good looking 10 point, hoping he comes back.

Brown county checking in. Crisp and cool this morning.

1 small 6 pt buck and a decent 8 pt buck and a handful of does this morning so far.

I'm in Driftwood and seen a few mid sized bucks pass by before the sun came up. There were 2 does there a few mins ago looking back suspiciously this way - but not directly at the blind. Then I saw a coyote cross between us and the feeder. Was only in front of me for about 15 seconds. What's the consensus here… should you kill them if you get the chance? Can't imagine what a 30.06 would do to on from 15-20 yards away.

I leave my feeder timer on standard time so this morning I don't think it'll go off until 9. I can't remember the last time we got to hunt on opening day. Usually at a football game.

Rusk county for me. The pigs were there at 1 AM.

Why mess your hunt up? Unless you have an overpopulation of predators no need killing them as they serve a needed purpose.

Hate it when it opens on the first, or even the first week. Always stuff to do in the first part of the month, have to read meters, voting is tuesday, so is Dr. Sorry for the rant, good luck to all out in the wild!

On the boarder of Wichita and clay county with a small drizzle outside this morning.
