Same, but I am a sucker and do it every year. All I have seen so far is a couple does and a fox (which was cool).

Me too. Pretty good storm passing us right now.

This is how I spent opening day. Welding and fixing up this blind.

It's something I had all summer to do, but put off because of the hot weather. Then got super busy.

Gravestone Gas Gun Match tomorrow. Hopefully I can drag this to camp tomorrow and finish it out tomorrow afternoon.

Here is me trying to figure out how to get it on the trailer after putting too much weight on it for me to handle by itself already.



We have a forklift attachment for the tractor at camp, so I just have to get it there. I just dont here one at my house.

Some action this morning. Passed on a 10 that was just a little too young.

Took a boar to market this evening though after the mo soon, 190.2 lbs with some nice cutters.

Much colder today in Coleman county.

Humid, old truck said 39 when I started it.

Colder here in Hico this morning. Damn cows at my feeder so not too optimistic about this morning but it's still a good day to be hunting and not working.

34 in brown county this morning

Compared to most of the doe in Fayette County absolutely.

She was nice, not sure the weigh but very healthy.

Although I wish I had taken more photos for the OB. She had a circular wound that I at first thought was an exit wound but it was old and "healed" up it was through all but maybe the last layer of the skin too. Then inside, her lung on that side had a nasty growth/absess on covering most of it, and it was full of THICK goo/puss. Was completely contained to that area though and not anywhere else. I think she might have gotten poked early in bow season but dunno if it woulda healed that fast.

How old is your daughter and has she hunted before ? I'm taking my 9yo out in two weeks she's been shooting really well with the 243. Put a 3" group at 100 and rang every steel target I had out there. I think she's ready.

Sat yesterday morning and this morning. Booth cool and clear, yesterday had a little cloud cover but no fog. Erath Co.

Today 6pt spike and a big buck running a doe, they went by full speed at 150ish yards into a thicket and never saw again

3 aoudad so far…tired of them continually pushing our deer out during the witching hours.

Every one we see - it's a rule at our place. Last few years they haven't shown up until it got colder but this year they are thick as fleas
