The only better scenario would be a combo LJS / A&W, but I don't think that's happening. Like the rest of you, I really like it once every month or two.

I saw yesterday that work has started on the new Long John Silvers where the previous building was demolished.
Looks amazing. No prices though. I do see they are taking applications, including sommelier, so that's encouraging.Captn_Ag05 said:

Scrolling through their FB page, looks to be a food truck only.Captn_Ag05 said:
Will it be a food truck rather than a location?
It was officially condemned by Brazos County as an unsafe building but they operated the drive-through anyway.Look Out Below said:
I went a few months before the remodel started. Not a soul in the restaurant but the drive-thru was hopping.
Or how a restaurant that hasn't even opened yet has a bunch of raving 5-star reviews on its website. (Bad flashbacks to "The Oracle", there...)Captn_Ag05 said:
Kind of strange to me that a restaurant close to a bar district plans to close earlier on Saturday night than during the week...

As much as I love to shop there, that place is a dump.
It's literally part of an old Kmart, the ancient mold(?) covered vents are still there.trouble said:

Kmart used to occupy most of the shopping center down to Goodwill. After Piggly Wiggly closed Kmart did expand into the space (including re-flooring and leveling the space), but again, that went away after it closed in 1995. If I recall, Dollar General went in before Goodwill did, and that's when the wall was rebuilt.Hornbeck said:
It was Piggly Wiggly on that end. The Kmart was tractor supply.

I wonder when and how that old shopping center will be redeveloped. My personal fantasy is tearing out all but the walls and rebuilding it into a large, modern supermarket that doesn't suck, but that will never happen sadly.
