The only better scenario would be a combo LJS / A&W, but I don't think that's happening. Like the rest of you, I really like it once every month or two.

I went a few months before the remodel started. Not a soul in the restaurant but the drive-thru was hopping.

It's listed on the permit at $3.8mil.
Kind of difficult to find. Go to this link: https://www.cstx.gov/departments___city_hall/pds/publications/building_permits_issued
Then download the excel file from the month the building permit was issued. There will also likely be plumbing, electrical, site dev permits associated with the address that won't list construction costs.
These costs are also sometimes based off architect/developer's estimates rather than actual construction contract values, as permits are in many cases applied for prior to having a contract awarded.

I think the reviews are generated by the website. I had to turn that off on mine. Notice how they don't even match what things are called on the menu.

Apparently the BCS Asian market is going to close this summer unless someone local buys it. I pulled this from bookface.

The owner couple of BCS Asian Grocery Store have been thinking of retirement at least for a couple of years, as their adult kids are in Houston, and they were originally coming from Houston to open their store here. Originally, they were thinking to get BCS locals to take over their store, but it is difficult to keep a grocery store like that without any prior experience.
Note: this couple used to partially own an Asian grocery store in Houston (on Bellaire).

I wonder when and how that old shopping center will be redeveloped. My personal fantasy is tearing out all but the walls and rebuilding it into a large, modern supermarket that doesn't suck, but that will never happen sadly.
It was Piggly Wiggly on that end. The Kmart was tractor supply.
Kmart used to occupy most of the shopping center down to Goodwill. After Piggly Wiggly closed Kmart did expand into the space (including re-flooring and leveling the space), but again, that went away after it closed in 1995. If I recall, Dollar General went in before Goodwill did, and that's when the wall was rebuilt.Hornbeck said:
