Yep. And will be completely full every weekday with students parking.

Cannot they just tow cars that are not there to shop/eat? You know, like what every other place does

I don't know. But let's say I go shopping. Catch a movie. Then have a few drinks. Then hit Porters for dinner. I could be there for 6 hours. At what point do they tow? And how do they know where I am?

Or maybe I parked for free and walked over to Zachary for my afternoon classes?

Or stores/restaurants could offer parking validation, like other places that have paid parking nearby. As long as you are a patron of a business there, parking is no additional charge. They could even do "first 1 hour/2 hours/3 hours/etc. are free".

I like the concept, but how does that work? I go into the store/restaurant/bar and announce I'm here to purchase something. And they give me a sticker to place on my dashboard or windshield to tell the parking attendants that I'm good? I have to go back to my car? What if it's pouring down rain?

Validation is already built into the app. It would be easy to implement.

I know a lot of cities where the parking is run by 3P with cameras reading plates. And either it auto-validates for 1-2 hours or you scan a QR code for free parking if entering the business.

They do that at the Asian place that is in the old IHOP. You scan, and get 2 hours.

Galleria did this when they first opened in CS - but they no longer validate your parking. Even if you're there for several services.

Or we could just go somewhere else that doesn't have parking issues.

I guess I've been lucky. I've visited Sephora, Kendra Scott, Harvest, and a couple of the boutiques and parked right next to the stores without paying and have never been ticketed.
