According to Rusty, parking will be free, until 11:00 am.

The hidden translation is that a number of our tenants are economically struggling and close to closing their doors so we need you to help us where you can!

I don't know if the local one is being affected but I read where Orange Therapy has closed a number of locations. The article said that the parent OT owned millions of dollars to Atlanta-based private equity-backed investment group.

As a local friend of mine who owned multiple locations of two national franchises here for decades has mentioned a number of times, he sure wouldn't open retail business in the current economic times.

Where can one eat before 11:00 am, other than Sweet Paris?

Hard for me to feel any empathy for them after paying a fine for the two minutes it took me to ask a question in the King Ranch store. Will no longer shop at Brazos Valley Running since they moved there.

The parking garage is right around the corner from Brazos Running and it's free.

that's not a bad idea. is it still considered an open container if I'm sitting on my tailgate?

Coco Shrimp opens at 10:45am

They must have known about this coming down the pike when they set their hours.

Call me crazy (and I may well be), but I don't trust that garage. The only time I went to buy running shoes, the guy was writing a ticket while I was at the machine paying for parking. He must have been lurking.

I paid the fine as a lesson learned. They don't want my business.

The garage is free.

Let me see if I understand;
- Bucketrunner knows the garage is free and does not trust it
- Bucketrunner had a ticket writer jump in to issue a ticket while they were trying to pay at the kiosk
- No more Century Square for Bucketrunner

I will add that lot parking is free on Sunday, unless this recent change got rid of it.

We will never learn how to use parking garages will we? Even the free ones are a lost cause if i cant park 5 feet from the entrance of a business.

Went to Century Square last week for lunch. Parked in the garage. But it took 5 minutes to get a spot and 5 minutes to get out, because it was 95% full and so many folks trying to get in. Couple that with how tight it is (one way in and out) and a bit farther away from many restaurants. I will have to budget more time if I go back, which I only will if a friend wants to meet there during the week for lunch.

It is a nice area with nice places, but it is an inconvenience when compared to other places.

Yep, I just prioritize other food locations; especially for lunch. I think restaurants going to these spots are actually doing themselves a disservice unless they want walk traffic from A&M/Apartments.

Being a resident not on campus or ever spending time on campus, I see little value of going to century square. We used to go to the movies over there, however after having interruptions (fire alarms pulled in two visits in a row months apart), another was an apparent gas leak in the area and they closed down the parking garage and theater; I have written off that movie theater as well.

Many of the townies (us included) have written the whole place off. There's nothing over there that really appeals to me, mainly because of the crazy parking situation. I posted this thread as they took a step in the right direction, but is it the case of "too late?".

It does help if the garage doesn't sometimes drop chunks of concrete onto cars.

Yup. For us it's an ALTP area. "Avoid like the plague."

Way too far off the bypass.

all parking that's not in the garage should be free
