Lakes down south are in bad need of water. As long as the storm surge is ok, they'll be fine.

I don't think a storm surge would help lakes more than a mile inland. They just had a big storm surge in Surfside within the past week.Quote:

Right. The rain will help the lakes. The storm surge will hurt the coastal areas. Thus...as long as the surge isn't too bad, the rain will outweigh the wind.

Really hoping Beryl will bring some soaking rains to DFW but it's not looking likely as it keeps pushing further east.

Got rained on this morning during my run. Just enough to make the pavement change color but I will take it over nothing.
Same. At home in Plano what I saw early this AM (645AM) it just changed the pavement color but that was about all.
Here in Dallas its not heavy by any means but decent little spitting action for a while now.
Hoping to get maybe 1/10 of an inch or so in Plano but not sure likely. Was really hoping for 1/4.

Gentle rain started and we promptly lost power
Just over the last 30 minutes, I got a good heavy rain here in Plano. Not sure how much but it was a down pour.
Just saw this and went to my cameras and definitely a decent little soaking at the house....not sure how much but much better than earlier this AM...
Track of beryl is tracking slightly west of north. Hoping that continues, we'll catch some bands if so.
Hoping for a good soaking in south Rockwall county.
