He at least is very knowledgeable about college football. That's more than I can say about any other show other than the hardline. And he likely knows more than the hardline.

I thought Donnie was great with Sirois. I think him becoming more bland is a product of who he's working with.

I really liked him with Sirois too. It was great radio and was probably my favorite combo on the Ticket. But it's now clear that it was just Sirois carrying him. Donny is extremely tough to listen to right now. I think we were all hoping that he was boring just because he was paired with Norma and didn't have anything to work with. But it's now apparent that he's boring with anyone not named Sirois. And that Norm's Dad jokes have rubbed off on him in a bad way.
For example, if you paired Sirois with Matt, I think it would likely be great as well. And it wouldn't be because of Matt. But Sirois could get some great radio out of Matt by going wheels off on some of the weird/crazy stuff he says. Donny can't do that. He just makes Dad jokes over and over again. So they aren't a great pairing because they both need a fun/crazy host to be paired with to make them better.
Matt does have alot of knowledge about sports, especially college football and the Cowboys. So if he were more of the straight laced sports guy that was paired with someone like Corby or Sirois, it would work out much better than pairing him with Donny. Donny is not a good pairing for Matt. But Matt is not a very good pairing for Donny either.
TLDR, Cat ****ed us all by not promoting Sirois.

A+ summary. Your take on Matt is exactly what I think too.
This is likely exacerbated by the Musers' reduced schedule. Now that Donnie and Matt have an extra hour to kill each day but the same amount of sports content, you're going to get more awkward moments where they're treading water trying to find something interesting to talk about. I don't envy them.
The Musers used to do this all the time, but it was funny and we complained a lot less because of how well they play off each other. This meme sums up our collective hypocrisy perfectly:

In all fairness, A&M wasn't mentioned one time during that segment (at least what's in what I just listened to in the sportsday app). They must have had a dedicated segment for their A&M/LSU discussion that doesn't appear to be up.

Grabbed a uSaveIt free trial through TheUnticket, and they did two CFB segments, apparently. The second one featured the A&M game.
Aggies discussed in the second segment at 5:15. Not much there really. Gave us credit for clearing out the LSU fans early, punt return flipped the game, Reed, Concepcion, Craver, (and I believe Corby mentioned Moss here) are studs. Then it became a Brian Kelly firing discussion, and of course OU/Ole Miss.

It was this weird combo of the Generic Youth Minister with Tourette's syndrome. If it was a bit it was SUPER well done with him going the entire segment and not breaking character.
It caught George so off guard that I think that was the main crux of him getting so tickled. That's why I'm thinking it was real.

I don't think it was a bit because I work with a guy (not named Wesley) who also does this. I had to turn it off immediately because I was so uncomfortable when George started laughing.
Then when the Ebrake caller started it and had Craig laughing, I was cry-laughing and punching the steering wheel.
Yeah, my vote is "not bit". Just a bit of a weird dude with a weird manner of speaking.
