Unfortunately we do dumb things sometimes and the jokes write themselves. The contract was/is a huge punch line

But yes generally Joel likes to poke fun but he knows we are a great fan base that deserves more than 8 wins per season and admitted we have all we could ever want/need to succeed

He said our list should be....#1 DeBoer at Washington - winner everywhere he's been and might be interested, then Lanning/Oregon - said it was unlikely, Jonathan Smith/Oregon State - said we'd love his style of play, Jedd Fisch/Arizona, Klieman/KState, Leipold/KU, and Elko/Duke. Said he also liked Traylor at UTSA but not as high as the others.

Is he wrong? All of the other 6 have won titles in the last 25 years, have lots of money, massive stadiums and fan bases, etc.

If you're one of the top twenty jobs in the country you can still be "one of the best jobs in the country".

Not that none of us don't already know, but seeing that in print is just a reminder of just how much of a meat grinder the SEC will be in 2024 and beyond. Goodness. As if it wasn't tough enough already.

I doubt you meant this, but I just want the record to show that Texas ain't on the level of the others mentioned.

It was predictably bad. Light on facts and they didn't grasp why Aggies don't view Stoops and Elko as equals. I think they genuinely think Stoops and Elko are a coin flip.

It's pretty weird that an Arkansas grad would wear Longhorns gear and root for the Longhorns (and talk crap to his brother about the Longhorns). That would be like me becoming a Longhorn fan if my wife went to UT and talking **** to other fan bases. I would never even consider doing that. I love giving all the t-shirt fan hosts crap about not going to the schools they root for, but George's son is on a whole different level than the t-shirt fan hosts.
