A lot of employers require covid tests if you have ANY symptoms just so they can contact trace. We've had people get told to get tested because they have a runny nose from allergies. If my employer tells me to get tested, there's not much I can do except get tested.

My insurance has paid for it everytime so far. The company is self insured so it's coming out of my employers pocket. For others it might be magically free like these free vaccines.

I can just lead off the interviews with "what is your contact tracing policy"

Getting tested every few months has been the least of my problems. I got to use an at home test last time so I don't have to worry about adding to the govt fear machine.

Give it another week with omicron...I wouldn't dance a victory laugh just yet. But things are looking ok so far.

I would like this to keep in the red until summer. I don't really like golfing, fishing, or really anything during the summer, so I can go back to the office then.

Eh, the data is such crap you can't take anything from it. You can't say 4 deaths a week because they were so spread out, you can't say 4 deaths in the 3/4 months because deaths during that time were reported weeks and months ago as well.

Since the beginning, the data released (other than current hospital capacities) has been useless. We could have had 100 deaths the last week and the data wouldn't show it. We could have also had 0. From the numbers they release, we honestly don't know. Now, I'm sure the hospitals have a more real time idea, or at least I hope they do....

They also just report deaths that were positive for Covid. They don't distinguish between whether covid even contributed to death…they just presume it did if the patient tests positive. Its worthless data except maybe for long term trends.
