Eh, it's definitely not my favorite burger, and I agree Pappas BBQ's burger is ironically significantly better. But from what I remember it was decent, not a this was terrible and a waste of my money burger by any means.

Slight derail, but growing up, always heard that Bun B almost came to Texas A&M, and that was his fav school/team in the 80's and 90's. Love this pic of Pimp C reppin. Would love to have that hat.

Also - Pappas BBQ, not Pappas Burger. Pappas Burger isn't bad, but for some reason they do them way better at the BBQ joints. Only thing I get at the BBQ joints is the burger.

My prime hits were downtown on Pierce and San Jacinto and up on 59N at Humble. I sure do miss them and the fries.

Stanton's is my current place.

Burger Joint was great when we went...but one of the sloppiest things I have ever eaten.

I am also a sucker for Someburger on 11th Street in the Heights. Nothing special, it's just a good classic American style burger. Probably hasn't changed since they opened decades ago. Only problem is you have to eat it in your truck, on one of the 2-3 tables out back, or take it to where you are going, so I pretty much just go there in spring, fall and winter.

Haha I started to say Booth but figured nobody would recognize it. Have you been to the Flying Cow just down the road? Pretty good Wagyu burgers farm raised right there. How about the Jay Cafe in Needville. Incredible chicken fried steak.

To further derail this thread, I saw in a post on FB from Scotty's that they're adding a steakhouse that will be open w/ reservations Thursday thru Saturday. Not sure where on the compound it is, but they had plenty of room to work with.

Yeah they moved out of that spot and into the strip center at Antoine and Pinemont.

That old spot is now a gay Mezcun cantina.

Our waitress the other day told us the steakhouse is open, and as you say, reservations only. She showed us the menu. We'll definitely be giving it a try. It's in the little house/attachment that's to the right of the stage (not the big house that fronts 762). You can see the table cloths through the window as you pass by on Agnes to turn into Scotty's parking.

The cantina is what was Lynn's Longbranch Saloon. The old Burger Barn is something else

That's what I was wondering. I think they were using that building as like a kitchen and prep area last time I was there, but it looked like there was room to do more with it.
