I traded in a bad ass Jaguar sports car a few years ago and upgraded my truck for that reason. After buying a few tires and rims just driving on the freeway and city streets. I think I spent 5k one year. Those rims are expensive!!!

It's an obstacle course out there.

It does seem there is more trash on Houston freeways than other places. Ran over a tire tread a few years back and tore up the bottom of my car.

It's been several years but probably the craziest road debris I've ever seen in Houston was on 10, eastbound, between 45 and 59. I don't have a clue what happened but there were quite literally the severed heads of probably 2 dozen pigs that must have fallen off/out of the back of some truck going from the processor to someplace else.

It was a stretch I drove daily at the time and it was a sort of morbid experience to drive by them every day, because they damn sure weren't being picked up by the city, county, or TXDOT and see them either rot away or get steadily ground into a greasy spot on the freeway.

Stevens and Pruett used to do that with Lanny Griffith or Laurie Kendrick. If it was on 225 they always guessed lost load of pipe.

That also happened in the last year or so on the Hardy Street off ramp for the toll, right at 610. Heads, guts and all….it took about two or three days for TxDot to clean it up.

I was just going to say that. Back when I worked down by NRG, it seemed like almost daily there was a report of a giant spool rolling down the middle of the interstate.

They are going to close Houston Ave bridge for like 2 years to replace it because it keeps getting hit by spools.

1997 or 98 -- Katy Fwy inbound at Eldridge or so -- whole truck load of offal -- intestines, spines, heads, etc. -- looked like the floor of Hell in a painting.
