Since we moved to the burbs (Oak Forest), I have to settle for the La Viva Wednesday night special....Diggity said:
hey man...El Tiempo on Wednesday is a pretty solid deal
that's the old Berryhill right? How are they doing?htxag09 said:Since we moved to the burbs (Oak Forest), I have to settle for the La Viva Wednesday night special....Diggity said:

But, back to the OP. We just don't eat out much anymore. Partly because of crazy prices. Partly because we have a 3 year old and 5 month old and it's just easier cooking at the house.

Stays pretty busy. They've done a good job creating a cult following in the neighborhood so seems people are always posting about it and how good it is on facebook.
The quality goes down the further you get from the OG (Richmond).Diggity said:

We don't want Mexican food, we want Houston TexMex as God intended Mexican food to be.GoAgs11 said:or go somewhere else not pay for overhyped food, this is Houston much better Mexican food at 1/2 the cost...smh white peopleDiggity said:

I've seen Tecate on Ella mentioned before but there's no way my wife will go there. Is it actually good and halfway clean?
RadY is bringing the ratings down with his undying love of refried beans.Diggity said:

This sounds like Millie's in Oak Forest
Seriously? That's kinda funny. I haven't been there in years, but it was just an ok, cheap little taqueria/cafe. The abuella at the register never gave me no trouble.drumboy said:

You may have to drive alittle bit over a county line, but The Wine Bar at the Grand Fayette Hotel, the Jon Perez Lounge in Round Top, and Magnolia Society in Columbus are all good options for being halfway to San Antonio. Haven't tried Lucy's Pie House in Sealy yet to give an opinion.AustinCountyAg said:there is nothing ironic about someone driving from austin county to a damn good steak house on the west side of houston to eat a nice meal considering there are basically zero options in Austin county to go somewhere to eat a nice meal.Al Bula said:
Something ironic about Austin county dwellers seeking out laidback vibes at an upscale city stq-house.
Have you had the "we don't need a date night 70 miles away just so you can NOT impress the girls in your circle you're trying to impress" conversation yet?"
Dang. Didnt expect random counties taking strays on a restaurant thread.Al Bula said:

I agree, the food is solid at those places on most occasions. However, not a true steakhouse type atmosphere as STQ was. FWIW Royers in Round Top has a damn excellent filet. 22 North in Bellville isn't bad if you want something nice and upscale.FM 949 said:You may have to drive alittle bit over a county line, but The Wine Bar at the Grand Fayette Hotel, the Jon Perez Lounge in Round Top, and Magnolia Society in Columbus are all good options for being halfway to San Antonio.
