I guess it's all in how you look at it. We've been to several of these places and had a ball. Even if the drinks are premium prices, the whole vibe is happy and festive. And, in a increasingly underdressed world, the amount of effort a lot of people put into dressing up to go to these is impressive- not costumes, but upscale and seasonal clothing. - Rose Garden
- West Alabama Ice House
- Ron's Pub
- Rudyard's (maybe)
And there's one other place that I can't recall the name that I stumbled in and out of several times over the years but it's been a long time. I want to say it was on the far SW side of downtown, maybe even into Midtown a bit. Ground floor of an older building that was maybe 3-4 stories tall and IIRC, it had a fairly ornate facade painted red.

Then there are dive bars reconfigured as Christmas pop-ups. Johnny's Gold Brick (a true hole in the wall dive) and Winnie's on Main. These are sister bars that are rebranded as "Miracle at ...". Not quite on par with Frosty's or Holly Jolly, but festive in their own right.

So apparently they do this at the christmas themed bars in Wrigleyville. It is called the Twelve bars of christmas. It is apparently a hot mess.
If you want a truly great Christmas themed dive bar, you gotta head to NOLA and check out Snake and Jake's.

I'd check that they have TVs showing the games first. If they have TVs at all they will probably be showing Christmas movies.
It's kind of interesting that many of the same people that tried way too hard to tell their weekly drunken bar exploits on here a decade or 2 ago are now somehow the good time bar gatekeepers even they moved out in the burbs and block parties.
