I didn't some to a complete stop at a stop sign over by the 401 in Bellaire. The cop gave me a ticket and I have court tomorrow evening. Normally I would just take defensive driving but I just had to take that in February (I think I had gone 25+ years without getting a ticket and now get 2 in 6 months). I would like to ask for deferred adjudication. Is that an option, and if so what is the best way to get that done?

Unless things have changed in Bellaire, the court date is a cattle call and you'll probably just have to pay the fine. They've never been known for friendliness there.

Did they set up a perimeter?

call Sullo & Sullo and have them contest the ticket. Got my wife out of the same situation.

Just called Sullo Ave they said they don't practice in Bellaire. Who else should I call?

Sullo & Sullo had an office on Bissonnet just outside of Bellaire for years and I'm pretty sure several partners live in town. The fact that they don't practice in Bellaire city courts implies that you are well screwed. Not to diminish the legal skills of Pat Monks whose website I will save.

My wife got tagged by constables rather than BPD if it matters. Lubbock Ave cattle call both times and Sullo got her out without her having to come into the building.

Meanwhile, someone's home is being burglarized and understaffed PD has no one to respond to said burglary.

My neighbors home was broken into and it took 4 days for a PO to come by and exercise a police report.

Service announcement- if you wish for a PO to come immediately, declare " i think the invaders are still in my home".

Oh dont park your car in the wrong direction on the street, for some reason the man power allows for prompt ticket writing. Like less than 10 minutes promptness.

Yep about 3 blocks from the police station

curious as to more details to the story as that seems really atypical. their response metrics are very high.

and traffic enforcement and patrol are separate responsibilities (not that patrol cannot engage in traffic situations, however).
