Dwight, Red Clay Strays, Cross, Creed

Then then the good for mainstream country Langley, Stapleton, and McGraw.

It's got solid acts for everyone.

That's my biggest surprise. But I guess the Stillwater reunion that the brand can still draw a few more people than Cody playing at a bar.

Also, I think I remember someone saying one time that Dwight had been effectively banned from the Rodeo Houston for ignoring the time limit. How long has it been since he headlined? (and I ask that with full confidence that he's been back more recently than I remember).

No joke, Nickelback was the third highest attended concert in the 2024 lineup. I think playing into millennial teenage year bands is a winner, even if its a band most people like to poke fun on. Ironic attendance is still attendance.

I do think they have fully booked the Tier I 'butt of jokes' bands with Nickelback two years ago Creed this year. I'm trying to think what other big names could fill the same role.

Jimmy Eat World doing an old song only set would kill it but they weren't hated like Creed and Nickelback.

I'd love to see Jimmy Eat World do an old song only set, but they have never been big enough to be a headline act for the rodeo, even if its a nostalgia act. Almost every time they come through town they are the supporting act.

I was at the 1993 show. He played for two hours at least. They had to turn the house lights up to get him off stage.

Ragweed should be good, I didn't like country when I was in CSTAT and I remember seeing posters for Ragweed playing cheap weekday shows. Regret all the acts I missed in those days.

Koe should be good too, I wonder if HLSR will have to issue an apology for profanity like the event in Longview did.

A man can dream.

But mostly I'm just out of ideas after Nickelback and Creed are going to be both be top tier historical performances for HLSR.

The only other 'brand' I could think of that was maligned as much as those two bands were is Dane Cook and I don't think that'd work as a musical act.

Real Ball Knowers know that this is the real HSLR lineup.

Mike in the Moonpies aren't on the lineup for the first time in forever.

Ideal HSLR rodeo day:
-Buy just a fairgrounds ticket
-Arrive at opening, go see the exhibits. I generally like seeing what giant trailers the FFA/4H/tech kids have welded up over the past year and are showing off.
-1PM at the latest: Proceed to outdoor wine venue. Sit in the area with the stage.
-Stay all day there listening to randos perform
-5PM go test out the massage chairs Mattress Firm/Gallery Furniture have set up. Take nap until sales person tells you to move.
-Go to the hideout when it opens.
-Shut the hideout down
-Take a ridiculously priced uber home.
-Brace for a rough sunday.
