Nobody ever uses the bike lanes in Spring Branch.

I am in favor of sidewalks and upkeeping them. I am in favor of crosswalks and vehicles yielding to them. But bike lanes are ridiculous.

The trash pick up is interesting since we pay a garbage managment fee from our HOA. I was unaware of that and to switch to city of Houston would be a risky move since I doubt they have the capital to take it on.

I'm not seeing much improvement on roads these days but I guess Houston has a lot of them.

Also not entirely certain of this homeless center in EaDo. I am ok with the Hermann park renovation. Playing golf there was pretty LOL.

I know they added some bike paths in Spring Branch, but at first it was just a couple small sections that didn't go anywhere. Did they ever connect them so that they're actually usable by people that want to commute or use them for exercise?

My mechanic is at Hammerly & Bingle and after dropping my truck off, I was riding my ebike back to Timbergrove, probably going 25 on Hammerly in a bike lane and a work van was laying on the horn behind me. Could have easily gone around, but I guess he just didn't like people using the bike lane.

I am ok with the bike paths as well. It's a good use of the easements and a nice way to just get outside and go for a bike ride. I always stop and yield at the crosswalks. There has to be some more negotiations with Houston for these to all connect I believe.

For your mechanic situation, I am in favor of better sidewalks. Or suggest to use uber.

Probably safer for me, but possibly illegal. Plus parts are blocked by trash cans or other crap. Not sure I'm going back to this guy anyway, he has a shop in is backyard and his prices have gone way up.

From his website:
Quote:

As a co-organizer of No Higher No Wider I-10, he championed people-first planning along the I-10 corridor and opposes highway expansion that harms our neighborhoods.

So he's flaunting the fact that he championed efforts which completely failed to stop highway expansion?

It doesn't matter to these types. As long as you are for or against the correct things, the. People will really around you.

He's running for Abbie Kamin's (typical lib wine mom) open seat. I'd give him a decent chance at winning given the stupidity of the district C voting block.

ok let's get some concrete examples. A bulleted list of his lies to the public and media would be helpful.

Bike lanes, Montrose Blvd, and cooperation with ICE have all been in the news for his public statements being contradicted by his emails and texts.
Vile and egregious violations of the trust of both the sainted media members of Houston and the voters.

I must have missed the recall efforts to get that villain out of city hall.
some guy launched a recall effort that was destined to fail. We may not think some of the issues he hasn't been transparent about are a big deal, but a big chunk of his voting base feels betrayed by it.

So the panty wearing cyclists, men in montrose of a certain persuasion, and supporters of illegal immigration?

He's scraping pretty hard for qualifications. Did you read his "about Joe" page?

Quote:

Raised in Kingwood, Joe earned his Bachelors at the University of Texas at Austin and his Masters at Universit Bocconi. After Hurricane Harvey, he cleared drywall and dug up floorboards to help his parents after their home flooded.

He helped his parents clean up their own house after Hurricane Harvey! Guy's got what it takes! As do I and pretty much everyone who lived in Houston in 2017.

But this is my favorite part:
Quote:

Looking to connect and support his neighbors, Joe restarted and became President of the Fourth WardFreedmen's Town Super Neighborhood.

White guy from Kingwood is the president of Fourth-Ward Freedmen's Town Super Neighborhood?
How did that happen?

Oh I see, it's something he himself started just this year:

We have semi-new neighbors who took each other's names so her last name is also part of his last name.

They are nice, but if you met them you would not be surprised by this.

The networks/MSM pick the winning candidates. They just have to talk about as strong candidates for the mouth breathers to think "they are strong candidates."

Like it or not, the networks/MSM still have all the power.

Time to start making the people who own the networks very uncomfortable.

If anyone votes for this moron, they get what they deserve good and hard.

No idea. I was assigned to flood relief efforts in Del Rio after the 1998 flood and it was something I actually did.
